The more important parts of that report are:

Today's Belgian newspapers suggest that Palace board have approached Anderlecht to restart negotiations. Player apparently given guarantee by Anderlecht that he can move to the PL in the summer.

Price would be around £ 10M

Leicester allegedly interested too.

If true I wonder who is initiating this contact seeing as we don't have a manager.

What happens if the incoming manager has his own ideas about who he wants?

This one has been on the back burner really since January so far as Palace are concerned and as the article states, Leicester went elsewhere with Maguire, so the field might be open for this guy for Palace to swoop? (But not sure if he is a 'no nonsense' type, or 'smooth passing from the back' type of guy? )

Answering my own question and having wiki'd him etc, he is certainly big and powerful (6 4" good header of the bacl etc. So defo in the no nonsense category! No idea of his passing stats tho

If its any consolation, he was the nuts on Football Manager 14. FM tends to be good at judging players. Very strong defender so could be a very good addition.

He played both games against United apparently in the Europa League.
