Would appear to be insurance if we do drop. Proven goal scorer at championship level and a good partner for Wickham and a replacement for Bent eke who won't be with us if we go down. What absolute rubbish. Neither Sam Allardyce nor Steve Parish are preparing for life in the Championship and I sometimes wonder where some people get their daft ideas from

I would expect that SP would be working out the situation if we go down I would expect him to have a plan in that case or at least be planning to balance the books.

I could perhaps understand your thinking if were in a 'Rotherham' type situation cut adrift and almost certainties for the drop. At the present time we have a realistic chance of survival and all energies are being channelled in our quest to beat the dreaded drop. This HAS to be the focus in our current situation.

I don't think we're necessarily interested in him just in case we get relegated, because it's a lot of money for someone you don't think will contribute now. However, I think it would be a factor (same as Schlupp) in that should we go down we'd probably be able to keep him.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Yes, let's replace our £30 million top-scorer, who is proven in the Premier League, with a Championship striker. Is he worth 30mil, no one wanted him at that value when Liverpool wanted to get rid of him, because I guess no one thought he was worth that sort of money and frankly as yet not seen anything impressive from him except his inability to run, take penalties, play the ball on the ground, work defenders when he does not have the ball, help out in defence and most of all show enthusiasm. Do you really think if we sold him we would get anywhere near 30mil? I think not!
