All depends on if he is fit...but if so I would have thought he's being signed as a RB/CB cover. I think LB has been covered after spending £25m on two left side players.

This is NOT the type of right back the team needs. He'd be ok for the center back position, but it looks like there will already be 4 players there: Dann, Delaney, Tomkins, Sakho.
Caceres will challenge Ward for the right back position. They're both lousy crossers, will contribute with nothing serving Benteke or whichever striker will play.

Ward would have been enough as the defensive type right back. The team needed an offensive right back in this transfer window
