One thing that can help is a good, hard, strong leader in the midfield. The way silva ran through our midfield for their second goal yesterday shows our biggest weakness. We desperately need a leader in midfield and if we don't sign one before Tuesday evdning, it doesn't matter how many new defenders we have we'll still be letting in goals.

Couldn't agree more.

That role was sacrificed by Pardew so that we could play '' expansive football ''

I'm thinking we need a miracle, for the life of me I cannot understand what has happened. We get better quality players and we get worse.

I think thats the problem the so called better quality players are not better.

Name a signing that has been better than the previous player.

Consistently.

Jermaine Defoe going through a bad patch might help.

Yeah, as you say "so called" but I'm sure with a confidence we would see a different set of players,

We're cursed, whoever we might buy would play a game or two then be struck down with a long term injury.
If they get their act together, have a bit of self belief, our current squad cam keep us up.

Strengthening in the "Engine room" of central midfield.Very disappointed with what we have in there at present to put it mildly.

Can someone tell me how we stop the crash dive that is watching Palace at the moment?

The players actually putting in a shift instead of playing like startled rabbits would be a good start.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I know... but if I told you I'd have to kill you and I haven't killed anyone since Nam....

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

The only person that could save Palace is Bolasie. What a horrible move letting him go. He added life to the game and team whenever he was on the pitch. You never knew what was going to happen. Now you know exactly what's going to happen. They are going to concede late. It feels inevitable.

Well we have two days and then Sam will need to work his magic with what we have after then.

I am hopeful that strengthening the back line with the few signings that we have made (I am assuming that PVA is a done deal) and hopefully an enforcer in the Defensive Midfield position will allow us to start off with a much more solid base.

Add to that Remy starting to come back towards fitness, Zaha coming back from Afcon and MacArthur coming back will stand us in good stead.

What about Spurs?
Still considering a bid for Wilf!
If Wilf goes we would be well and truly F****D
