With a bit of luck on injuries, this team will fly up the table. We need that luck though.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

If we don't turn up vs Bournemouth we will be slaughtered at there place. Sunderland is a must , stoke are not the same team we walked over . I think if we get stuck into boro it's winnable.... not going to predict wba as they are flying

Sunderland and Borough the most important what with them being so close to our points tally. Hard to know what to expect. If they come to Selhurst for a draw I can see them getting it. If they come for the win it actually might help us...as they say it might be first to score will take the points. Very nervous games though after our result against Swansea at home.

I have the Eurovision Song Contest results announcer giving me a dose of reality. I can hear her now,... "Crystal Palace,.....Nil points" On the other hand, I see BFS's influence taking hold, and maybe with one or two new players, we might just get what we need.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Hopefully Wilf will be back and uninjured and that should instantly improve the team

Interesting that our last 3 home games are (despite having a seemingly bad run in) against the worst 3 away teams in the league. Burnley have a single point away from home all season. Leicester no wins away all season. And I don't think Hull have either. 18 more points would see us safe. Winning all 6 of the above would do fine then And what normally happens when teams come to Palace without an away win? A striker who hasn't scored in x number of matches? Haven't scored from open play? GT

It's just a start of new chapter ... and this current one is boring the sh*t out of me! As I have already said in response to a similar comment, on another thread, IF we are relegated it won't be like the previous occasions. There's some really big money in play this time, so who knows what will happen at board-level? We have investors now who are likely to have a lot less patience than the benevolent owners of the past or those who bought the club in 2010. Our infrastructure is worse than most Championship clubs and is more League One in reality. If we go down this season, we'll have nothing whatsoever to show for four years in the PL. No renewal work at Selhurst Park, no significant improvements at Beckenham and a homeless academy. We're not a Newcastle, or even a Norwich, and the chances of us 'bouncing back' anytime soon would be bleak indeed. Without the PL money we won't be able to even do the essential work to the Main Stand and there's going to come a time when it (or parts of it) would have to be taken out of use. Unlike our friends on the south coast and in the frozen north east, we don't attract full houses outside the PL, just the opposite in fact. We'd lose every decent player we have and be left with those who everyone currently thinks need replacing. So to those pining for the Championship and, quite possibly beyond, be careful what you wish for.

Yes, the best players would go – for good money. And many of the players who ‘aren’t good enough’, are good enough in the Championship. There’s nothing to say we’d bounce straight back but there’s nothing to say it will be a dooms day scenario either.

Problem was our lack of strength in depth, which we identified at the start of the season. Oh how it has come back to bite us.
