I'd guess by paying for it. Obviously the replacement will take some time, but I'd imagine once you've removed the concrete, cleaned the pollution from the land and paid for environmental repurposing you can replant new trees - hey we could even genetically modify them to suit the purpose better.

We have the technology to do a lot of things. They're just not profitable. Like feeding, clothing and housing the poor and educating them, and offering them a decent wage. Desire for profit gets in the way.

PS,, JO Bertrand, head of uber in england, is god mother to ex prime minister David camerons kids, and david is god father to her kids, he was the instigator of letting 650 mainly uber cars into london every week and apparently gave instructions to mayor boris to drop any plans about capping the new numbers of minicabs, can you smell greed? Im not against the drivers , theyre just making a living like the rest of us,,,but am against the greedy cnuts taking hold of the country! Anyone interested go to a website called taxileaks,,,,

The whole issue of taxis needs to be revisited, from the interest of not just the consumer but also the life of the drivers as well - and if necessarily centrally regulated so that the best deal for both the passenger and the driver are considered.

Erm....buy trees and go and plant them.

Thought there is an underlying issue behind it which you were perhaps alluding to in that part of the reason it was cut down was that timber provided people with an income.

Nothing wrong with asking for a level playing field either. I quite agree that its everyone for themselves, but it doesn't have to be that way either.

That doesn't mean it cannot change, and that we cannot achieve a reasonable existence where people aren't having to work three jobs just to stand still etc (whilst their boss earns monumental bonuses, deals etc).

I don't have a problem with people having money, I do have a problem where people have single items of jewellery that could solve my local homeless problem, which has been effectively f**ked repeatedly by the local councils cutting back services to the bare bone (inc closing all hostels) to cut costs.

I don't have a problem with people having money, I do have a problem with people starving, or working for a pittance in virtual slave labour, or going without education so they can sow fashionable high priced shoes for the 1st world market.

Admirable trait, and one that seperates out the idea of being wealthy as not being the problem, its the lack of responsibility.

It does disgust me when people are earned 10s of millions a year running companies where the staff are earning minimum wage.

Nothing against uber drivers, my point was that the same men, cameron and boris, and khan now, that are going to put up the congestion charge because of the pollution and health issues, are the ones putting 650 new minicabs on the road every week,,,not because passengers need them, but the£ £250 licence fee to go into the very high salary pot!

They also donate more than Oxfam would raise in 150 years. Oh and pay a bit of tax.

Not really sure what sort of system could distribute their money and eliminate poverty other than communism, if you want to eliminate (legitimately) rich people.

Perhaps though we could force donations to the UK on top of, or rather than pet causes overseas but that would also upset the same people.

Alternatively you could tax them out of the UK completely.

At least now with all these cabs on the roads, you can get one when you want...Black cabs go south of the river now,cos they have to.
Wasn't that long ago, we used to get "Dont go south of the river mate"

So did Jimmy Saville!
