It is said that Allardyce took on a much harder job at Sunderland. Over there he signed THREE players in Kone,Kirchoff and Khazri and he kept them up thanks in the main to Defoe. I feel we need more than THREE so perhaps the job he has taken on at our club is a lot harder ! On paper, with the likes of Benteke,Townsend,Zaha, Cabaye etc we look a strong outfit but alas we have seen with our own eyes how these have performed. We of course need defensive additions (Left-back obvious) but add some strength to the central midfield "Engine room" and this could go a long way from saving us from the drop. I think the reason he bought three at Sunderland because that is all the money he had. He had to make the best of it. I suspect like us Sunderland fans thought they needed more than three

By my reckoning the 3 players he signed cost £16 Mill so he did some great business in the market.

Same f***ing amount we needed when many were stroking themselves silly we'd definitely be top 10 once we got Benteke and everywhere else we'd be fine with. (super al no doubt thought the same leaning back in his office chair, Oliver Sweeneys on the desk, with the happiest group of players he'd ever seen comparing tan lines and having a chat and a laugh over something on a phone with Keith Millen in the middle of the training ground)

Whatever you thought about Pardew the atmosphere was always one of positiveness and setting out trying to win a match . We all know he failed but BFS is so negative in everything that he says , bit like a Holmesdale Forum Poster, and it has filtered through to the teams performances. They are confused and lethargic and they reflect BFS personality. I hope this win has picked him up let alone the team !

Assuming you need two competent players for every position... GK - Fine CM - Flamini, Cabaye RW - Zaha, Townsend ST - Remy, Benteke I make that 5, we can probably afford two so will have to ship out as many of Kelly, Fryers, Mutch and CYL if we want more.
The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. |

Keeper, centre back and 2 full backs. Holding midfielder and midfielder who will run back when opposition player goes past him. No more overpaid lazy wasters. I'd agree if Mandanda wants to go home then we need six. If not five. Assuming we sign Jenkinson then that's still four we need on top of Schlupp. CB, LB, DM, CM Now if we can sign a top LB say Evra I think our back line will hold and I'd probably make do with just an attacking / creative CM. So possibly only two more on top of Jenkinson but they have to be class.

If Jenkinson and evra are completed (Sounds like we are waiting on evra making his mind up) i think we need CAM - Why we haven't gone in for bojan is mind blowing to me but like others have said, we need a real goal threat week in week out in that role. Meant to take some of the pressure off of Big Ben so he has freedom to move/rather than trying to hold both CB's back. DM- As much as i was excited by the thought of Cabaye joining palace at the time, he has proved to be a much bigger problem than i would have anticipated. Went from Jedi (strong, passionate, aggressive leader) to the complete opposite. I feel now that our fall backs and Cabaye in the DM role causes the rest of our side to fall out of shape whilst covering their roles. Need a big strong leader type in DM role like Jedi with better passing/decision making abilities. It would do our 11 a world of difference. Also with cabaye being linked away for more money than we bought him for, nows the time to change!
As for Big Sam looking fed up, i think he has more on the line then palace to at this stage with the six months hes had, and i think that he feels like certain players have been letting him down. For him, until they are replaced with quality, i can see why he wouldn't be too enthusiastic about the whole situation.

Never started off as much of a CYL fan, but actually he's shown more drive and creativity than some of the names on this list when called into action recently. Unless we can bring in a few superstars, I wouldn't give up on him just yet. Didn't think I'd be saying that a few months ago though...
