Excellent news! There are bound to be a few detractors about almost any player but I like much of what I've read about him and feel he will be a very good asset. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do.

Cheers for your summary, Chris. Sounds like it's a good transfer for all of us. How it's gotten to £12.5m is ludicrous (reflection of the state of the game rather than Schlupp).

Looks like a reasonable pickup. Ok with Schlupp signed presumably he play on the left, is Jenkinson next? No doubt he'll slot in at right fullback. Big Sam looking to sort out our defense and about time too!

I am always a bit suspicious when opposing fans make posts on the Palace site.
What is the point and why do they go to the bother.

Why shouldn't they. In this case there have been a few Leicester fans giving us the low down on Schlupp in what appears to be a completely unbiased and neutral way and most of us have appreciated their summaries.

Unfortunately there are one or two with football xenophobia that like to treat this forum as private property but they are probably miserable gits in real life as well as on internet forums

Get in evra and play then both down the left, finally a winger who can defend and a full back who can attack. If it means we never see kelly in a palace shirt again I'll be more than happy.

The tragedy for CPFC is how a wonderful net-contributor to the club (Yannick Bolasie) has gone for a reported £30m and we have done the money on inferior replacements.

The combined estimated transfer fees for Schlupp and Townsend is around £25.

So we have only £5m left over, but have to factor in two lots of wages, and have two players, who combined are not as good as half a Yannick.

Maybe the club had no option, but to let YB go, which is a tragic position for us, but to try and replace someone like that is almost impossible.

For all the clever-clogs who will now say I'm a mug 'cos YB has a horror injury we don't know if that would've happened with us. Different games, circs etc...........

No-one could have forseen that Bolasie would suffer such an injury just as no-one could have forseen that Townsend would perform so poorly for us
