0-0 was a good result away at promotion chasing Bolton.
However 0-0 at home to league 2 Plymouth to a side chasing the Premier League top prize, now that is embarrassing.

We were playing a team at the top of their league, absolutely full of confidence and with nothing to lose - all things considered, it was a very encouraging performance IMHO.

It is always difficoult with the cup, smaller teams always gives the extra when bigger clubs use other than 1 team players, just look at Liverpool at home to Plymouth,,,0-0 know what I mean

I have to say I cannot agree with you I went to the game. Bolton were cautious they did not press us at all a bit like Plymouth against the under 23 Liverpool team but we were incapable of creating anything effective against them with players from our main 25 man squad.
For BFS to say he was pleased with a clean sheet is just clutching at straws. We still have a lot to do to stay in this division. I hope we can do it but from the performance of our second string on Saturday against a lower league team we will need a lot of luck or a few new players recruited.

Their fans were singing " Premier League You Are Having A Laugh" which tells you how well they thought we played. I am not being negative just being realistic about the situation.

But on the negative side...some of our fans were joining in.

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Are we now making judgements about our own team based on the chanting and banter of opposition fans?

Correct me if I'm wrong but Bolton have lost ONE game at home all season ... the highlights on motd looked encouraging ... Remy looked good ... I'm excited to see how he will link up with Benteke ... Craobrll let us down yesterday ... more reason why he must go

They say hard work never hurt anyone ... but why take a chance?

I can remember us doing the same against Wolves & Villa in 2009/10 & I doubt there's a lower league side that hasn't at some point when they've met EPL opposition.

I would say that all we learned from this match was that there was little difference between the two teams and given Bolton current position compared to ours in the football league this should be of concern to most as we do not have a good enough PL standard squad thanks to AP to stay in PL!

Our fans were actually singing "Premier League and we're having a laugh!" which they have always sung since promotion.
