It doesn't work that way as the Americans purchase of shares is a private transaction outside of the company as SB and the others have sold their shares personally to the Americans. The £50m is additional monies injected by the shareholders on top of what they have paid for their shares

Therefore there are no details as to who owns shares in either of the 2 Delaware companies. The only thing of note is that Parallel was formed only in June this year and some shares were transferred to it from Holdco - so presumably a reorganisation of the US owners. I think it is fair to call the US names the owners from now on."

The B shares also have voting rights attached to them by the looks of it so would factor in

We've gone from being a club owned by four supporters to one partly (or maybe largely) owned by a mystery foreign consortium. All the time SP is CEO I doubt we have too much to worry about though. I agree SP has been great so far but my worry is Swansea fans used to think the same about Huw Jenkins

For as long as SP's 'vision' happens to coincide with that of the others'. A CEO with a minority shareholding is just hired help.

I seem to recall the original deal was 18% each for SP, JH & DB with the 3 other 2010 guys reducing theirs considerably (as noted above). This was in consideration for a £100m investment of which 50% was paid up front. There was talk of a number of other smaller investors at that time. Add to that when AP spouted off about shareholders lack of knowledge SP defended it saying there are many smaller investors & they had had dinner with several of them just a couple of nights before the Southampton game & it was those AP had referred to. Hopefully the Delaware connection is there just to help JH & DB with their financial structuring in the U.S. but I guess it could hide the involvement of third party financial institutions/venture capitalists etc.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

True, but I think they're going to have to trust him on the footballing front unless one of them fancies getting hands-on. He seems to get on pretty well with the two main US investors at the moment. We're not a Man U, with shed loads of assets, that can be played around with, so it really does come down to how well we can do in the PL and the new investors would be mad not to give a lot of weight to SP's views for the time being.

There is no way they would have sold that amount of ownership for as little as £50m!

Its a shame PalaceFC was effectively hounded off this board as he had some useful information on this point. When the deal was first set up there were going to be at least 9 US investors, of whom Harris and Blitzer were the largest shareholders. For example, the owner of Peak6 Private Equity, who also owns the Arizona Coyotes Ice Hockey club, was mooted as an investor. Later he took a stake in Bournemouth so maybe he dropped out but I doubt it's just Harris and Blitzer.
