Yep, it was so inevitable. You u just knew it was going to happen. So Palace

Yep, just like the 3-0 win against Southampton where everyone was saying we would lose. Yep, exactly that - NOT.

Don't be such a tool. Well done for bringing up the one game this season where we've surprisingly won. I was a season ticket holder for 16 years until moving to oz.. we have NEVER done anything the easy way. When we're expected to win we invariably don't.

The most encouraging thing about his quote is that he didn't make excuses. Honestly, I think it'd be fair to acknowledge how tired they were after getting just two days to recover. I know Wilf can sometimes blow hot and cold but he looked exhausted at the beginning ot the match, and only found his legs halfway through the game. Same was true for a few of the players.

Really encouraging to see the players accept responsibility. They know we won't stay up because of magic. It's all about graft from now until the end of the season.

Delaney could hardly have played the "too tired" card given that he was suspended for the Arsenal game. However it is about time the players stopped blaming everything / one else and stand up and be counted.

Delaney is the stand-out leader of this squad.

I said that in another post and I think speroni is as well. Ok we need to focus on the league but I think jules level head and experience (the man has been through a few relegations with us) is why he is being used today

Had a similar performance and result against Villa about the same time last season. Let's hope we can push on better this season. SP's radio interview helped to lift the gloom. Nice entertaining, confidence boosting performance in the Cup today will also help. COYP !!

*Lifted* fron the Daiy Fail:

Delaney believes the time has passed for 17th-placed Palace to think their collective talent means they will not be involved in the fight for survival, and has demanded his team-mates accept the reality.

“If anyone thought they were not in a scrap, they know now,” said the 35-year-old. “It is all good saying ‘We are too good and we are this and that’.

“We are right in the middle of it now and it is time to stand up and be counted. People say the quality we have but we are way, way, way below where we should be. We cannot make any excuses anymore. We are in a relegation scrap for the long haul, so it is time to saddle up.

“He (Allardyce) has got a track record but we cannot rely on that. It is going to take hard work.

“It is the first time in five seasons I have been here that the fans have turned like that. They were within their rights to complain but in the second half they got behind us. It is important we keep them onside because this is going to be a long road.

“We are in a scrap now. The way to get out of it is by sticking together, digging in and working hard. Hopefully the manager can get us on the right course. We have a long stretch and a lot to work on.”

churchillesq words from damo there he is the only one along with ledders i would expect to come out & speak to the media in such a way.

A bit dramatic brauny. But I get what you mean about speaking up, and saying how it is.

he may be almost past it & a limited footballer but hes passionate as f*** and will never give up...even tho wilf is our star player he hasnt got the leadership skills damo has.

i get twitchy when he plays as against top teams he just gets raped but you know hes going to get back and make that last ditch recover challenge if it kills him.

you dont need 11 of him in the squad but people like him make a difference, i think flamini will also step up once settled in

Agree.... Tuesday night was a bit like the time the Holmesdale fans chucked their Season Tickets on the pitch for another p1ss poor performance from an Alan Smith Palace team.

We are loyal patient fans in general - but you can only push us so far.

I think Parrish has now woken up and smelled the coffee... he let the Pardew situation continue for far too long without acting which has now gone critical.

Sadly Allardyce copped a lot of flak on Tuesday, but it's fcuk all to do with him... he has inherited a crock of sh1t and will have to bring his A game to sort it out and avoid relegation.

I hope Parrish doesn't fcuk about waiting till the last day of the January window to buy urgently needed players!
