I know we don't want it, and I certainly hope it doesn't happen. But...

- He is now a fuller player than before. He creates chances, challenges back, scores (wonder) goals.
- He could go to a bigger club and get lots of game time (he would not be a bench player).
- He could win trophies and play in Europe.
- He could develop further as the quality around him would pull him upwards.

And all this would happen whilst earning more!

If you forget you a Palace fan for one minute and review his position objectively, I don't think we could argue against a move. And I think we owe him the chance now. When a footballer looks back at their career they will have wanted to have won things. And Wilf is good enough for that. I think it would be unfair to deny him that chance (he must be emotionally drained trying to win us games to be continually let down by team mates).

Let's hope all managers forget about players in the African Cup of Nations (out of sight, out of mind)

He is just too good for us

Footnote: Last nights goal reminded me a little of the Moses overhead. And look at him now! (although it took him a while to get there and I think Wilf is far more ready)

Wilf going to AFCON has left us in a real hole and we are going to have to do something about it or we will be relegated. By the time he returns from AFCON we will either be moving towards safety or looking at relegation. If we are relegated he will go at a lower figure than we can get now, if we are moving towards Safety then we have proved that we can survive without him. So unpopular as it will be with many it is time to sell him. If we can get £40 million or so that will enable us to get replacements where we are weak. We have replacements in Kaikai and Townsend.

The injuries to strikers make it imperative we get another striker and I am afraid the noney for that may have to come from Wilf

He's not a Zaha replacement - at least he hasn't shown it yet.

Hypothetical, but if Spurs offered us Ben Davies and Kieron Trippier as a straight swap for Zaha, would you take it?

He has already decided to leave and the board know it. He asked to leave in August and there has been no new contract offer made to him to persaude him to stay. Shame but we need to move on from Wilf he cant stay here forever

Great run in the first half that led to a free-kick on the edge of the area. Poor, otherwise, but still did more in the first half than the invisible Zaha.

For £40m they can do a shed load more than sleep with her. And they can do it for a lot less than £40m if they promise to keep her!

Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy!

I think it will be a mistake for him and us if he goes. Us for obvious reasons and him because he won't get the game time with one of the big clubs like he does with us. He is a good player. Not amaZing and he will look imo distinctly average against players at some of the bigger clubs. Man utd wasn't exactly a success for him was it. He was the only player who looked like he gave a toss and have a bit of passion about him last night especially his body language once he scored the equaliser. Whether that's because he is eyeing the transfer window remains to be seen

I think he's an ungrateful little c*nt with a sh*t attitude! We took him back from Man U and resurrected his career and you can tell his focus is on furthering his career, which is fair enough but I don't think he'll shed a tear for us if we go down. Buffering off to a bob tournament is nothing more than self promotion and getting his profile raised.

Yeah, he's been good this season but hate the way we all know that even if we were to stay up! Depressing when you can't keep your best players and makes progressing virtually impossible.

He's magnificent and I won't hear a word against him!

He's got a brilliant attitude. He works hard, gets lumps kicked out of him, he gets up again and he keeps trying difficult moves when everyone else just takes the easy option.

I don't think its going too far to say I love him!!

Rubbish, your making stuff up. Wilf was given a new contract in September and is on very good wages more than double what he was on before.
I dont think he had any ambition to go to Tottenham just used them to get a better deal. Cannot blame him for that especially when other players were earning a lot more. However i think it more likely now that he might go given the way the club has performed this season.
