Personally think the atmosphere has got worse because of some of the crap songs that are sang. Just as the atmosphere gets going a dull droaning song only sang by the HF. Noticed last night the Arthur singing a few of the older songs at the same time the Holmsdale were singing something else. In the final year of the Championship the atmosphere was brilliant has been on the decline ever since.

IMO the atmosphere has fallen flat since the change of announcer. This new guy is awful, can barely be heard in my section of the homesdale And is flat as a pancake. Completely agree. The new announcer is terrible. The previous chap was so much better

I remember going to a non-league game where the away fans seemed to get excited by everything, including the throw-ins. I said to my mate "it's like clapping the bounce-out in a darts game". Anyway, my point is, we all ought to cheer everything good anyone does, even if it's minor. For example, if we manage to not turn an attacking set piece into a scramble in our own goal mouth we should give a raucous cheer.

On the whole, up until now, the fans have kept the faith and been surprisingly tolerant of what has been served up in the last year. However, last night we saw a feeble and spineless performance and it was not surprising that the team were jeered off at half-time. At the end I came away feeling strangely dispassionate and detached. If we had fought and battled throughout that match I might have felt some emotion at the end but in reality I departde Selhurst with an empty "oh well" feeling. I mean, for heavens sake, we didn't even put Swansea under any pressure during the 5 minutes of added time allowing them to keep possession in our half. That performance sucked. If a team fails to show passion and fervour then that team has no right to expect passion and fervour from the fans.

Whilst I agree that the announcer is pants I hardly think we can blame him for the atmosphere. The atmosphere has a direct correlation to performances on the pitch. If we start competing and playing with some passion (and winning the odd game) the atmosphere will sort itself out.

At the end I remarked to my neighbour that I'm now so accustomed to losing (and deserving to lose) that I hardly care. Terrible thing to say after 60+ years of supporting them. I'm not upset, just numb.

I was going to suggest stringing 3 passes together but realise this isn't going to happen.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Just to stop booing them at every opportunity would be a start FFS. This team is going to need a lot of encouragement to get them back to winning ways. Get behind the team and the Big Sam.

The fans and the announcer are not to blame, the players are.
