That's just a Croydon Advertiser typo though, isn't it? His and Sam's comments on fixture congestion are fair enough, an issue which, like much else, favours the big clubs.

Yeah, great idea to really get into the players heads and tell them that they'll be tired.

Maybe next time we should try telling them that we will score and win with a clean sheet..?!

...regardless of The Adders' endless typos and shoddy journalism, are we still meant to be believing that we're one of the bigger/top 10 clubs..?

They probably already knew they were tired.

The bigger teams do tend to perform above their rest of season average because their squads are more able to deal with the extra games.

But I am sure I saw the stats showing that actually we had the second longest time to complete our three games over the Xmas period, equal with Watford. Southampton had about 30 hours less than us for all 3 games!

[edit]
There you go - [Link] - was actually worse. We had 202 hours and Southampton had 3 games in 117 hours (admittedly they did get 0 points from those 3 games). Leicester had 40 hours less than us and got 4 points.

We've got the longest injury list and a poor second eleven. We were always going to suffer more than most other teams over Christmas. We almost managed the situation quite well but yet again poor mistakes cost us the game.

I have been saying for weeks that the team did not appear as fit as they were under Pulis and that that has contributed to the many of the mistakes we keep making. Fitness could be down to training it could be that some are carrying injuries it could just be that the terrible run of results has sapped the strength of the players.

West Ham will be more of a test of whether the players have it in them to keep us up.

The fitness and injury issues were exacerbated by Pardews' lack of fitness training in Pre-Season.

We have to go back to running up hills so we can run through brick walls again.

A lot of it is in the head though, isn't it?

You yawn in front if someone, they yawn.

10m profit, would be the only viable reason to do this, having spent 30m approx. in the first place.

However he's already matched our highest goal scorers in the premiership, of any of the last three seasons, in half a season. And that's with missing two penalties.... Might well be the best striker we've had since Ian Wright.

And you tell someone they're prioritising clean sheets they keep clean sheets, right? Alternatively, you look like a total pr*t when they then concede five goals.

I think it was more the spread of those games - we had 6 days then 2 days between games, CFC had 5 then 4, Leicester had 5 then 2, Southampton had 3 then 2.

Okay, CFC lost last night, but had 4 extra days in total to play their games over Southampton. It's about TV pure and simple. The money makes the game go around now, but that sort of discrepancy can make a big difference.

No need to have our match on Tuesday.

Bournemouth v &srsenal was the prestige match on tv. &rsenal had 2 days rest.

Our match was on 2nd channels around the world. Couldve been on Wednesday.

This seriously needs changing. No need for it. If tv is that important they could've had a match on Wednesday and Thursday and then the Thursday teams play FA Cup ties on Sunday. If they interfere with Police staffing, there's always Saturday or Monday to move the nearby rival's match or indeed the Thursday team to Monday.

2 days in this day and age is a joke.

The Premier League are responsible for the fixture list.

Put the lower performs of the previous season against the top clubs in the Christmas month against the top five for TV viewing - we end up with all o them and not having the strength in our squad the players are on their knees by the New Year - Swansea a prime example .
I hope Big Sam puts out as many of our youngsters out at Bolton and save our usual players for West Ham
