If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

they deserved f*** all support last night playing like that, most of them should be ashamed to put on the shirt. The crowd turning was due for months and they can't complain when they look so inept

... and I thought they were booing the ref because of the pens not being given - especially after hearing the rendering of "the referee's a w**ker" chant. Surely that was part of the negativity?

Everything was wrong last night. Within 10 minutes you could sense something was not quite right. Fair game to Swansea, they passed us off the park.. Perhaps last night needed to happen? The players need to know just how frustrated we we are. However, the togetherness we showed a few years ago was the major reason why we stayed up with Pullis. We were the 12th man in the stands, supporting, cheering and installing self-belief into the team. Somehow, we have to do it again...the atmosphere we created at Wembley was unbelievable... We have to keep supporting the players...however difficult this is. Hopefully, a few new players, a bit of luck....and you never know..

I have been supporting Palace since 1964 and last night, with Wilf's goal the clear exception - whose skills we won't have for another month now, it was a truly, truly abysmal performance, and I remember the days of our playing in the then Third Division which were fecking awful. The atmosphere before the start of the game was flat. The laughable flickering lights as the team comes on makes for nothing but derision. The team is uninspiring despite the money spent on it. The core of the team which brought us up has been dismantled and quite possibly will not be replaced for another 2 or 3 seasons, if then. People criticising individual players are always in grounds. Several seasons ago I heard one bloke having a go at Danny Butterfield, only for Butts to turn round and give him a mouthful back. It's part of football and always has been. On the basis of last night's efforts I think Keith Millen should take a team of "reserve" squad and U23 players to Bolton and play as best they can, because let's face it they cannot do any worse. That would give the Fat Controller ten days to drill into the principle squad players the defensive qualities needed and we used to have. Then move on from there.
Taking the bungy jump since 1964. Never to see John Jackson in a shirt again Sorry to see Lee Hills go, did we ever see Alex Marrow? We did January 2013 |

The whole atmosphere has changed; the constant change of announcers is illogical and the current one is poor, very poor. His announcement of Wilfs goal was a shambols. Whilst the new lights might aid TV, they have ruined the viewing experience and the 'light show' last night was pointless - the twitter storm in the early evening is worth a look at. Selhurst doesn't rock, but the club aren't helping and as for the WrIght n Bright bar running out of hot dogs before half time and the coffee machine broken, it illustrates that the stadium basics are just wrong.

There was a nutter at the front of block G giving it to Ward, Wilf & the officials but there were sections of the stand trying to get those around them going - not easy when the whole stadium is flat. It was the abuse and vitriol from the LH at half & full time that concerned me & that's where the core of the booing seemed to come from too. I think Dweeb got it about right ^^. Not the worst I've seen but probably the lowest confidence in any Palace side.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Haven't posted for years, but have to say as a season ticket holder in Lower Holmesdale was disgusted at the booing of our own team at half time, and there was plenty of it around me, not just the main stand. The vitriol from some was bordering on psychotic. These same few have been like this for a few games now- not same atmosphere now, and the sense of entitlement to call our players c***'s etc with that sort of venom is killing Selhurst as much as the poor results, who ever the manager is. Jyst a note on the current issyes with performances,Transition from having blend of big names on big contracts and the original promotion core are now starting to really create divide I think in team. Hey ho what do I know though- been an Eagle for thirty years so this cycle always comes round.

The team were worse than ever with not a single shred of effort shown in that first half. They have been supported all through this miserable year but enough is enough, fans have the right to vent their frustrations at the mercenaries that dare to wear our shirt. Deal with it.
