...would it be if we get relegated? I'm interested to know what you other fans think. If SA stays until the end of season, he will have had half the season (roughly), and a window to add players. So who would get the blame. The choices are; 1. Sam Allardyce 2. Alan Pardew 3. The players 4. CPFC2010 5. the fair weathers who leave with 10 minutes to go

For me it is down to who ever agreed to "change our style of play". Getting ideas above our station also not having a tactically competent manager to carry them out. For me AP was nothing more than an average Premiership manager, sorry but this is just as I see it. Agree with that 100%.

Blame whoever you like, but the fact of the matter is Big Sam is in charge now. With home games vs Swansea, Middlesbro, Burnley, Hull, Sunderland, Leicester, Watford and Everton comin' up, there should be at least enough winnable games to stay clear of any relegation battle. We only have to win at least nine to be sure of staying up, easy for Sam eh!, not with the current squad thats available and especially, if Zaha goes to Africa nations, this is going to be very tough and close run thing right down to the wire!

A thread on who to blame for a calamitous event which cannot happen for another 4/5 months minimum for which there are many factors yet to play out? Isn't the silly season meant to be August?

It's all very well changing the style of play, but you need the right personnel to do it. We didn't have the right group of players. It seems Pardew overlooked the fact that the opposition will also have the ball.

I am totally to blame given my high weighting of Palace players in my fantasy football team. The last of them being Benteke, who I will take out this week which will mean he will now score shed loads. Just for good measure I have loaded up on Arsenal players so nothing really can go wrong on Sunday. Onwards and upwards.

Sam will blame Pards; We will blame Pards I think. We've probably dropped 10 points that we could should have got with better team selection and tactics. Major injury problems now and other clubs sorting themselves out mean we have a really tough and difficult second half to the year. Very few winnable games at the backend of the season when Sam will have new players bedded in and injury returns and therefore the team playing better.

For me AP was nothing more than an average Premiership manager, sorry but this is just as I see it. I'd halfway agree with this but I don't think we had ideas "above our station." To me, the concept of playing a little more expansively was sound. It meant we would not always be on the back foot, not relying on 30% possession and breakaway goals, etc. We purchased players we believed could help us build a team that possessed the ball and built from the back. I think the problem was twofold: (1) we tried to adapt our style of play too quickly. It wasn't a gradual build, it was a huge gamble. I think these ideas needed more time to develop. (2) Pardew did not seem, in the end, to be capable of implementing these ideas.
