I am sure that would have been consolation for Benteke if his knee had been done Because they don't have the skill to make those sort of tackles, they shouldn't be attempting them. That is reckless. So the keeper should just make no challenge and allow Benteke to waltz around him ? You can imagine what his manager would have thought ! He had every right to challenge for the ball but got it wrong. In my book it was mis-timed and not malicious. It could not be categorized as "Violent conduct" or "Serious foul play" etc etc. Penalty was the right decision but Benteke decided a "Back pass" was beneficial ! Nobody would have been screaming "outrage" if Clattenburg had given Gomes a red card.... clumsy or not intentional... he caught Benteke around knee height and it deserved a red. To see that Clattenburg hadn't even given him a yellow was infuriating yet again especially when later on he gave Delaney a yellow for his penalty infringement. This so called impartial arbiter of the laws of our game needs investigating as to why CPFC always end up on the wrong end of injustice every match he officiates in involving our club. "bad luck" is supposed to even itself out, but when Clattenburg is involved we constantly suffer from his incompetence or deliberate application not in our favour. Without even giving it much thought I can cite yesterday, last year's FA Cup final and WBA away 2 seasons ago where we were the victims of major refereeing injustice by clattenburg's application of the laws. In the WBA game he allowed Dawson a free rein to inflict GBH on Speroni with his elbow FFS. PS - this is a statement of my thoughts and not an invitation to Trollo or anybody else to bore me to death with how great "Mark" is and how he is much maligned by Palace fans. You do know a player can be carded whether intentional or not? Of course you do, or if you don't, do what you normally do and google it. you just like being a bit (lot) of a dick when it comes to Clattenburg.

Thankfully and recpectfully I don't label any posters a "Dick" or words to that effect.I can argue my point without resorting to such language. For avoidance of doubt, my views on the incident would have been the same no matter who was the referee. As for the use of "Google" I qualified as a referee, albeit many years ago and speak to senior referees in the game. Not "Blowing my trumpet", just responding to the charge. Trolley, you are always googling and/or using wiki. You've been caught out many times. I didn't call you a dick, I wouldn't want to get a card

Just shows the inconsistency with referees in general. Yellow only for sure which of course he did correctly for Delaney. I read somewhere that Delaney's yellow means that he will miss the Arsenal game. Now that will be a huge loss if Tomkins isn't fit? As for Clattenburg, I thought he had an okay game compared with some of the others we have had recently?
