Bizarre as it sounds,I would consider seeing if Hennessey could take ,he has a hard enough kick an it would psyche out the other keeper!

Benteke took over from Cabaye but his style is predictable and $hite. We must have someone in the team who can kick a ball hard and straight?

Bring back Super Kev or buy Defoe.

Don't ever recall Jedinak missing a penalty for us ?

Put his laces through it every single time.

How I miss the bearded warrior !

Bizarre it would be. Knowing our luck, the ball would probably bounce off their woodwork and roll back down the length of the pitch into our goal!

Not a manager are you? What if he misses by hitting the post or the keeper saves it? Suddenly he is out of position and struggling to get back. I think it is a great idea

If you smash a penalty and the keeper goes the right way , he still might not save it. The way he takes them if the keeper guesses right, he's definately saving it. Smash the f*cking ball ,also they look better when they go in. He f*cks about tries to tap it in then wants to do that w*nky dance, not good. Smash it in then sprint to the fans with all the veins sticking out of your head and dive into the away end, then take the yellow card.

Just watched the penalty, as well as it being poor I can't believe nobody follows up either. Work to be done

Just smash the bloody thing. At worst you get a rebound or corner.

From listening to Big Sam's press conf yesterday it looks like Benteke might be relieved of his penalty taking duties pretty swift. He referred to Mark Noble who's only missed 1 out of about 27, pretty consistent!!....i think Noble is in the style of make your decision, run up to the ball and hit it low and hard into either corner, its not rocket science!!
Pardew mentioned in a previous interview that he spoke with Benteke after the last miss and they had a "difference of opinion" of how a penalty should be taken, that suggests to me that Benteke wont be told what to do and wont change his style for anyone, maybe that's the arrogance you get from a 32 million pound player?
Something tells me Big Sam wont put up with that!!!

Time to reinstate Puncheon to the duties? He cannot never take a penalty again because of one horror miss.

there seems to be two threads now on the same subject, but all are agreed that it was a crap penalty and a change in taker is needed. I would be happy with JP or maybe Wilf or Townsend. he has a good boot.

It wouldn't surprise me if its in Benteke's contract that he takes the penalties.

Bring back Brolin
