The only thing about his early days I liked were the Diadora trainers. Later on he had real class and style in abundance. Massively so. Don't bother anyone with any 'Last Christmas you gave e your heart' gags on here anyone. Predictable.

Given the amount of celebrities we have these days, the obituaries of the future will be huge but will mostly sound like half forgotten advert jingles compared to this year's scything.
It's good to keep an opened mind, but not so open that your brains fall out. |

Brilliant singer; crystal clear vocals. Great musical talent but something of a troubled soul.

His music want to my tastes but the sheer 'f*** off' attitude of George Michael was amusing. From getting ripped to the tits and crashing his Range Rover to importuning undercover cops in public conveniences, George Michael was a more interesting pop star than most, if not all, his contemporaries.

It's a curious thing about all the high profile artistes who've died this year - although they may not have appealed to everyone, even those who didn't particularly like their stuff would find it hard to come up with anything negative to say about them. You may not have been a fan but at least there was a degree of respect for their achievements and their overall contribution. There are many performers (naming no names) whom The Grim Reaper could have chosen this year who have instead doggedly remained on the planet and whose demise would be almost welcomed but no, those who've gone have been true high-calibre names. I'm actually really depressed about everything this morning.
