He is an excellent fit for the club and will bring back trust and solidarity amongst the players a stability for the club. Credit to our players they did their best and never gave up, i am excited to how they will play when being lead by a proper manager.

I think it's a great appointment experience, point to prove after England gig, probably got him as cheap as possible (a year ago would have cost more I'm sure), will defo sign some power which we need, will play for a point away when needed, I'm ok with direct football I was brought up on Coppell, he'll sort the defence for sure, progress the training ground and medical/fitness side he's been great at that wherever he's been. I guarantee he'll get more from Benteke and Townsend than Pards did. Also think Dann and damo will go back to sitting deeper and defending our box rather than this high press s*** that doesn't work with our lack of pace and disabled array of left backs. Never massively liked the fella a bit like Pulis but a massive upgrade on Pards and tactical nouse. Only danger could be more dodgy skeletons but can they be worse than Pards injunction and pulis 2million quid robbery of the club? I doubt it. I can personally enjoy going away again after Burnley and Swansea I swore not to waste my money until Pards had gone. Eagles onwards and upwards. We got ala, ala, alardyche, ala, ala, alardyche..... Sums it up perfectly for me. I had feelings of doom and gloom when going to games under Pardew, I now feel confident that we'll be competitive again and smash a few teams rather than us being a soft touch and shooting ourselves in the foot by giving away soft and stupid goals. We've lost to so many teams we should have beaten by becoming a charity for teams who are on bad runs and can't score. I think we'll see a much better Palace under Allardyce.

Totally agree. It was my birthday on the 22nd and AP getting sacked was the best present I could've wished for. Getting SA the very next day instead of the usual p*ssing around for weeks trying to find a manager was also very welcome. Sam will make us solid and difficult to beat. We have a far better squad than he took over at Sunderland with and with a couple of wise additions in the window 2017 has become a far brighter prospect than it would've been had we limped on with AP in charge.

Agreed....a very shrewd appointment. Let's be honest, with the new Swansea manager about to be sacked...we really had to act quickly. Spot on post, not many experienced Prem managers who know how to keep a club up about currently, although I like Pardew and am sad he's gone, reality was we had to do something, we secured the best out of work manager out theee currently, again well done the board. Ok there will always be the question of his morality, but honestly in the cold light of day it about staying in the big time and the ££££

Feeling as though we will now turn the corner with Sam leading the squad .... what odds are are there for a Palace "double win" against Watford & Arsenal ... I'm having a score on it ... looking forward to singing the boys to victory at both games ....

There are a lot of people complaining on this forum - but not one of them is worried about us getting relegated any more.

^100% this. The Pardew In brigade can cry about this all they want, but just like Pulis keeping us up, it will happen again when May 2017 comes around. The 6 of them left will be consoling and stroking each other up in some cr&ppy boozer right now, planning some sort of 6 man match walk out or March up South Norwood in their pink tutus and leg warmers whilst super al is laughing to himself, planning his Boxing Day - New year and beyond tour of Dubai, Marbella and Vegas, not really giving a fook because that's how it was communicated on the pitch. Bring on 2017. The last few months have been an uncomfortable and depressing experience. As uncomfortable as Parish and Brighty must've felt with the cringeworthy schmoozing, &rse licking thumbs up that was probably days before or after the Southampton match itself. You yearn for super al to come and mend your broken heart with a bowl of soup and a kiss and stroke of the forehead. You're really silly.

I've been an AP supporter with my few posts and I'm sad for him as I liked what he was trying to do but the results just wouldn't come.
We move in the direction of our thoughts. |
