He's a guarantee against relegation. If we're rooted in the bottom half for the next couple of years while the money keeps rolling in and the squad keeps getting improved... Well, it's an attractive gamble to go for a more exciting manager but why take the risk?

Yes we do. For three of the four seasons we have had to bring in a firefighter to get us out of the mire and if last season had been a few weeks longer we would have gone down. We are far from being established in this league.
