The doubters on Big Sam need just checkout his managerial CV! From his first job in Ireland to the job he did at Sunderland. The common theme is relative success - that'll do for me! All the talk about hoof ball is unfair - especially from the WetSpam fans who lets face it have unrealistic expectations of all their managers.

I didn't like Pardew much, but I can separate the individual from the job and, provided it's being done well, I don't need to like the person doing it. Allardyce is not perhaps the most likeable of characters, but he's a good man to have in your corner when you're where we are right now, and anyway, I don't imagine he gives a monkey's what I think of him.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

They are already slagging off someone, who hasn't been appointed yet!

1. Whether you believe the hype about his style of play or not, its exactly why he's been appointed. The club has decided its too risky to change our play style, so its back to that small club mentality. 2. He's crooked, and many of us don't want that kind of person representing the club. Also, why the hostility? We are all Palace fans, there's no need to insult eachother because we have differing opinions.

I don't hate big Sam. Out of the likely candidates I actually think he'd be my first choice. If I could look into the future and see whether Gary Rowett would progress the club then things might be different, but he seems like too much of a gamble at a time where we just fired a manager for....well, gambling with his tactics. So on balance, he gets my vote (unless there are other interviewees I don't know about). I'd back any manager at Palace, Sam is no different.

Modern football is full of greedy cheating players who don't think twice about screwing over a team and moving on. Homophobia and aggressive behavior is prevalent, football has very low morals but people choice to pin the £400k thing on BS as if it's the only unsavoury thing in football.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

As long as he isn't a rapist, paedophile or murderer and he delivers then fine. This is the murky world of football, not the Green Party leadership contest.

Because it's so blatantly a short term fix, come in, revert back to direct route one football and secure top flight football for another season. His probably about as good as we can get and a safe appointment. Nothing is a gaurentee either if we go on a little run after Christmas of losing 1-0's instead of 5-4's then the only good thing will be seeing the hysteria on here
