before i start...i agree hes has been dissapointing since joining. but... there are obvious reasons for this as hes played almost every minute for us on wrong side of the pitch...whenever he has played well in his career he has played on the right hand side of the pitch and been effective cutting in. all of a sudden hes been asked to play out of position and he cant do it well, some players can easily adapt but he cant. also i would point out if you watch our games this season it almost seems to me that we are making more space for wilf to play in on the right hand side of the pitch and whenever andros gets the ball it seems to be very congested on the left hand side and its harder to operate in. he needs to perform better thats probably the only thing every fan on this site 100% agree on at the mo, but also he needs more minutes on the pitch, and maybe him & wilf swap sides for the watford game and lets see what he can do. he is a very very good player, and it will work at palace given time.

GT i agree with you but then pardews between a rock & a hard place on this one. both wingers are more potent on the right hand side, and i think (tho its a close call) if both are on top form then wilf is just about the better player. so hes sacrificing townsend to get the best out of wilf. i bet if wilf goes to the afcon, and townsend is afforded the space & amount or the ball wilf is then i bet the real andros townsend will be back abd firing on all cylinders.

We started the season with him on the right and Wilf on the left, it wasn't working so Pardew switched them round; we then went on a good run of 3 wins and 1 draw. Sometime in that run or shortly after Townsend rocks the boat by complaining he's on the wrong wing and our form has been crap since. Not saying that it is all his fault but he made something an issue when things were going along nicely otherwise. Strikes me as a player that plays for himself over the good of the team. Pardew is not without criticism because he clearly signed him with the intent to play him on the right, then only to see both are too predictable when cutting in and Zaha is almost unplayable on the right side.

My Spurs mate calls him "Sir Blastalot". That free kick and some of his other shots from outside the box in other matches have been embarrassing. He reminded me that all three subs yesterday were ex Spurs unwanted stock, better suited to the championship and Townsend certainly not deserving to be on the fringe of England squad!

A couple of my Tottenham supporting mates say you get three good games in a row from him then from there probably one in 20, having said that he's a talented lad, was Newcastle's player of the season in their relegation battle so don't believe he's a bottler. Could it be that he isn't being managed properly? I get the impression that could be it, just my opinion mind. Definitely a good replacement for Bolasie so should be playing better. Probably totally baffled by Pardew's stupid tactics. A new man will probably be able to get a tune out of him.

Hazard and Costa two class players who were very poor then in comes a new manager and boom they are class again. AT had a good start with us something has changed to make him so poor, I can only see a new manager getting him back to the good player he is.

As much as I hate Pardew, don't see how he can be blamed for Townsend being so s***. He definitely didn't coach him to take a free kick like a rugby conversion or to pass the ball to the first man at every cross. He's just an overpaid, useless t***. Need a winger in Jan. I think he has badly lost confidence, toatl of money at present.
