I didn't expect this at the start of the season with the additions I thought it would push us on actually enhance things not being in relegation mixer I thought we'd took a step forward not a step back.

I felt the same and now every weekend is a nightmare. Feels like we are going backwards again.

I happen to believe the following will/could finish below us :
Middlesbrough,Sunderland,Swansea,Hull and Burnley.

Long way to go but I cannot see us finishing above any of the other teams.

You could also add Leicester, West Ham, and Watford to the list of "could". And maybe West Brom and Stoke.

There is more than half a season to go........

The earlier losses where we should/could have picked up puts hell of alot pressure on the big games big teams like today & Wednesday.

We have NOT picked up the points we should of. This is why I am so concerned, we need to start winning again and very quickly.

I meant to add Watford.
Had a think about Bournemouth as well.
Cannot see Leicester, WBA, West Ham or Stoke finishing below us.

Maybe not. But they could. That's all I'm saying. Not likely, but possible in any half season.

Just hope we are all not clinging to false hopes. SP must be very confident but how long will the US guys let this go on before they want change.

With great respect,I feel a degree of complacency in the above posts.
Stevie Gerrard mentioned in a BT Sport interview after the game, that we badly need to go back to basics or we will go down as Pardew's news system is just not working.
Being quite realistic, if Pardew stays ,we go down as the man is too arrogant to admit his mistakes and go back to basics.
Personally, give him one more chance to get a result at Watford and should we lose, bye bye, as another defeat follows at Arsenal as night follows day.

I don't see what is to be gained from giving Pardew one more game, he's done as far as I'm concerned, a beaten man. He should of gone for after the cup final but our bollockless board thought "f*** it we'll give him a 5 year deal instead"

Hes dragging this team down to a place we may not recover from, if he stays we go down simple as that

The difficulty is we have 21 games left in PL and to be safe we would need to aim for 43 points (in the past West ham have gone down with 42 in 2003). In order to get to this we need to averaging 1.33 points per game for rest of this campaign. so the outlook is not good considering our current form 1 win 11 games and only 4 wins at home in league during the whole of 2016. It looks very difficult and something needs to give!
