Millwall don't own the land subject to the CPO, they rent it.

I thought the story was that the land was adjacent to the ground and Millwall had just expected to be able to purchase it at a reduced rate. The council wanted to sell it to a higher bidder. And the knuckle draggers were kicking up a fuss about not being able to make a profit or buy land on the cheap.

I didn't think there was actually any threat to the ground itself.

That is the story in a nutshell. The Scum have been trying to spin the story to imply their ground is at risk, which is not the case. Just carry on ignoring them, like we always do.

The CPO also includes the freehold of the stadium.

Not in anything I have seen. It only covers land around the Den. There were concerns over the operation of the academy, but not the Den itself.

Having said that despite disliking the knuckledraggers if there is a genuine threat to their ground and they would be forced to move out then that is disgraceful.

But nothing I have seen suggests that the actual ground is impacted. Just land adjacent to it.

We wouldn't get much sympathy from their supporters if it happened to us so I couldn't care less if they get chucked out.

Quite true though they have also said they wont sell to Millwall and will only sell to a murky offshore company which founded a previous Labour mayor of Lewisham

This is true. Heard on radio yesterday that the all Labour Lewisham Council have agreed to this. The CEO of the off-shore company was previously a Lewisham Labour Councillor... nothing corrupt/underhand about this deal then!

Milwall offered more than the regeneration company and it was still rejected. It stinks. No matter what you think of them this is disgusting.

Labour council wouldjabelieveit.
