Neither the Italian referendum nor the Austrian presidential runoff are about leaving the EU.

Far right Mr.Hofer has just been beaten in the Austria poll.

I did view it but the speaker was unconvincing he was basically pedalling his far-right views and I am able to form my own opinion despite his saying we are feeling too guilty to do so. I think Austrians would not be fooled.

Could be good news for the UK, if a number of EU member state leave the EU, the option for remaining within the Common Market rises without the need for freedom of movement - Economically that could be very good for us.

A deliberately misleading post and will not be asking you to explain why.

Why is there no introspection by the likes of yourself as to how and why the EU and the 'progressive left [sic]' are getting battered? Why did you lose the argument Legal? Why do the masses fail to see your side?

I believe that the EU is corrupt, unfit for purpose, undemocratic and a supranational behemoth that answers to no one. If it was such a good model, all continents would be copying it, yet, strangely, they aren't. I I also believe the EU is an illusion, built on economic lies and shortly the house of cards will collapse. That's why we need to take this wonderful opportunity to engage with the rest of the World. That's my Euroscepticism, not built on raw emotive nationalism, the stuff you lot hate because you lot can't answer that and call me a 'bigot'.

Actually, it seems to me that many parts of the world are seeking to copy it and develop regional blocs. Eg, Mercosur in Latin America, ASEAN for SE Asia, ECOWAS, EAC, SADC in Africa, and pan-national trade deals such as TPP and the Canadian venture.

I think the principle of binding nations together to prevent war by increasing trade and interaction is generally a good aim. There are certainly problems with the EU, as with every system, but I think the alternative will be worse.

If we create the conditions by which people are regularly challenged by the influx of new ideas then the outcome will be stronger. What do you think is the best way of doing that?

I FULLY AGREE.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

But that was not the point I made...

Perhaps the need for a little introspection arises somewhat closer to home?
