It's fortunate that we can still see Fawlty Towers. Laughing at foreigners? Gussett and his friends would have you hanged.

Seeing him on TV when I was a kid over 30 years ago, I assumed Andrew Sachs was Spanish. It wasn't long though before it was pointed out to me that he wasn't really Spanish at all, he was English and was only acting the part of a waiter from Spain. Then many years later I found out he was actually German! I'm sorry to say the only role of his that I'm at all familiar with is that of Manuel in Fawlty Towers, but as the series is one of my favourite British sitcoms of all time along with Only Fools and Horses it is a character I have come to know and love for many years. For that reason, I will always have fond memories of Andrew Sachs and am sure his family, friends and many fans will as well. Edited by Dan Theolmesdaleroad (02 Dec 2016 2.25pm)

The Germans episode was playing. Everyone was pishing themselves despite 3/4 of the coach being German. As for the Gusset and his friends having you hanged... It's unsubstantiated nonsense like this that makes me not take you too seriously. One gets the impression that Hrolf is sad because he can't use **** or nignog in his vernacular.

nick. Does using the words you have repeatedly in the past week make you feel good? You've posted things like "darkies", "coloureds" and "nignog" while trying to have a belittle another poster, who didn't use any of those terms. Whether you think he's racist or not. It's almost like you're the one who is sad that you can't use them.

A brilliant actor and may he rest in peace.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Having warned the nation for letting Andrew Sachs into the country in 1938, the Daily Mail is now expressing its condolences on his death. You really know how to toe the party line Gusset. Outstanding! Keep up the good (blind) faith.

One of the best lines was....... Fawlty... Manuel take the butter off one of those trays. Manuel.... Que? Fawlty... take the butter off one of those trays! Manuel... No Mr Fawlty... it is uno dos tres!
Also I'm sure Ross and Brand regretted what they did when they sobered up and probably feel bad again right now. RIP Andrew (Manuel)
