It has gone mental, and, in an effort to assuage my feeling of hollowness at the mentalness of the HOL, this evening I have been trawling back on three threads from more "settled" times.

1) Kenny Lunt's Flounce
2) Going to own up Coward?
3) Bellyman's missus.

I don't know what is more mental, HOL as it is or a middle age man sitting here after a good few wines looking at some old stuff on a football forum.

When you say mental, do you mean thoughtful and cerebral?

Was it physical before?

i still remember jcreedy promising evetybody bostock would sign a contract on the pitch on his 16th birthday only to eat humble pie...he was 100% sure.

still blame warnock for bostock leaving, and carl cort. prick

I have read threads 1 and 3. Bellymans missus is lacking the photos which caused such a commotion. There are certainly some highly amusing threads lurking in the HOL archives.

Why all the flouncing though and why the need for the dramatic announcements. Surely you would just stop posting and not come back. Why make a big deal out of it **confused**

A particular favourite of mine which I dug out was the one about all women at matches stuffing their faces with pizzas, cracked me up

No, I doubt that was meant. It was more thoughtful before promotion, and more "keyboard" hissy fit after. As for cerebral, this is a football forum, where you can say inane things. Like you hear on the terraces*. But all the rage lately is ridiculous.

I remember 10 years ago people claiming it had gone massively down hill. Then we had the great debate on "ban under 18s" (who had apparently significantly lowered quality), that went on for a couple of months.

I reckon it's always been full of mentalists, you just spend long enough on here to block it out for short periods.
