I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that Nicola is James's wife.

VPN or proxy will probably be enough. Basically the government needs to be seen to do something, because its been s**t at hitting child p***.graphy on line and because parents seem to be very stupid cretins who don't know a) about parental controls b) monitoring content viewed by their children c) are s**t parents but want someone else to blame.

But it does look like the government is 'tackling the problems of the internet' by cracking down on watching people do things that aren't illegal to one another. Even though it won't achieve that, and it'll put a number of UK businesses based around such content out of business.

Given their massive success in getting ISP providers to stop 'pirate file sharing', I'm expecting this to be another massively unsuccessful and unenforceable piece of legislation that just costs the tax payer a lot of money, achieves nothing and just ends up p*ssing people off.

Seems a bit useless to me. Anyone really that bothered will be able to get round it and other than where it is a criminal offense (e.g. child stuff) then I don't see what business of the government it should be, as long as it is doesn't hurt anyone else (or anyone that doesn't want to be hurt).

I'm not going to be out looking for defecation p*rn but if someone else gets off on it then that is entirely down to them.

Same as any of these things really, the people that get vocal over these things are generally just offended for the sake of it and aren't actually the minority that are being offended in the first place.

That said, I think the intention of this is to deter people from deviancy that has the potential to escalate to something more sinister. Quite right that the sickos that are already entrenched in child p*rn etc will find a way round it but if it stops even one incident in the future then why not. Maybe i'd feel differently if I was into women pis*ing in my face but I prefer good old fashioned trying it on with my wife and being knocked back. Constantly.
