Same problem as last season tho no one in the squad who can give him genuine competition to start. Get depay or young in January and have genuine competition on the wings and one that can come on and make an impact in a game. Sako and Lee are not good enough.

Surely the issue of where Townsend would play was discussed during transfer negotiations. I wouldn't expect to start a new job and then find out on day one that I was being asked to do something different. He's been quite a disappointment so far.

Sign Young in January and it resolves some big issues. First he can do a job as a left back until Pape is fit. Second is we will have three quality wingers. Which means competition and rotation. Wouldn't touch Depay.

Agreed - he's worse than Zaha was at Utd. If DM had shown a little faith in Zaha Utd could've saved £30m+ Problem with Young is he's approaching 30, and we have enough (highly paid) late 20s or older players on the books already.

Would definitely rather have young, been there done it, you know what your getting and can defend, only problem is it would probably be a transfer and for his age would probably demand stupid wages. Depay would almost certainly be available on loan, hopefully Everton are up there so Utd won't want to send him to direct competition. Definitely need someone to come in to upgrade the bench and give both wingers some competition.

Can get into the England team but not good enough to play more than 45 mins for us. As said above, he obviously wants to play on the right and cut in, but can't as Zaha is playing there, yet he scored his goal against Stoke from the left so he can play there. Again, wonder why his playing position wasn't discussed during the transfer.
