Kelly looks worse than borrowdale used to and that's saying something. It's not his fault. Pardew shouldn't keep playing him

Club should try and talk Danny Granville out of retirement I reckon

Shame we dont have anyone coming through the academy at left back. As someone else said, and spot on in my opinion, albeit kelly is out of position, he is offering nothing going forward and he is not defending well, - a limited defender who cannot defend. Should be used as a centre back in my opinion. Id stick fryers in- if he is not starting games he has no chance of a contract extension, also if someone is consistently bad you'd expect a bit of rotation.

Personally i think the lad is getting slated for one mistake , was our best player against Everton and i thought our best defender against Liverpool.
He is playing out of position which at this level against a team who just beat Barcelona with class in every department is immensely difficult ,come on get a grip.
Wardy had a terrible run of form , was shocking at left back but was defended by his fan club on here , a lot with short memories on here who know f*** all about football and spout through their arses.
End of the day were palace and just coming up short against the future League winners so get your feet back on the ground and lets get a few wins and stay up !!!

Man city were bang average and there for the taking, I don't get this "future epl winners" rubbish.

Back on topic, Kelly has to be dropped. I'd play Tomkins at rb and ward lb, or, straight swap Kelly with fryers, delaney, ledley or even sako.

We should play Ledley at LB when he returns.

Unfair criticism. Clearly not his natural position and giving it his best. He's a good squad player to have.

He should switch with Ward. If not, give Zeki some games to build confidence or stick Ledley in there

What about Delaney at left back? Believe he used to play there?

He would have looked a whole lot better if Townsend helped him out.

Both Kelly and Townsend are being played out of their natural positions. We crucified Ward when he was also played out of position. Can't help feeling the blame is not wholly theirs!!!

A left footed winger playing on the left is hardly out of position. Yes we all know he likes to cut in from the right and shoot, but all wingers like to play on the "wrong" side occasionally and do that. Remember Townsend's one goal was cutting in from the left and scoring with his right foot. He's not playing well right now and I don't know why, but if we shift him then Wilf will actually be playing on the wrong side. The wingers should keep switching IMO anyway.
Is it true Tompkins can play right back? If so maybe time to play him there and Ward on the left as we know he can do a job there.

At Fulham pre-season Croll played the last 20 mins at left-back and looked OK. Perhaps get him back from his loan at Exeter. Failing that, throw in the U23s LB - can't be any worse. Remember when Clyne came in under NW - nobody had heard of him and he did OK!

There is a lot of criticism of kelly, but is it justified, in my opinion it is the midfielders that are causing the problems, great at attacking, at Burnley, puncheons mistakes and terrible corners led to thier goals, cabayes awful crosses put us under pressure, townsends dropped kelly in it yesterday, our midfielders are putting the defence under pressure, sort that out, but going forward they are as good as we have ever had
