Historic Royal Palaces (Tower of London, Hampton court Palace and some others) are self financed so it can be done. I have no problem with a £400 million refurb of Buckingham Palace but maybe open it up for more than 7 weeks a year to help finance it. Yep and I am sure they could monetise (shudder) visits to the Palace of Westminster beyond the parliament shop

They are appointed by God to rule over us and I, for one, support this renovation.

It will be interesting to see who gets the contracts Nick Knowles and Kirsty Allsop. Shoe in. 10 ramps, 20 stanna stairlifts, 800sq metres of draped gingham, some freshly baked bread and a statue of a boy p1ssing into a pond full of koi carp in the front courtyard. £343 million.

about what we send to the EU in one week what would you rather pay? Keeping our most iconic and spectacular British buildings looking splendid or giving to EU fatcats to get even fatter? At least it's money that stays in our country and an investment that will be recouped
