Good morning all. Apologies for starting a new thread on this subject.

Some of you from old may remember me from days gone by playing football up at Crystal Palace park probably around 10ish years ago where it was CPFC fans against MFC fans which culminated in that game at Selhurst between us both.

After the events of yesterday on the tram and after reading the tragic news this morning that one of the deceased is one of yours of no age, I felt I had to come back online and re-register to send my regards to any of you that have directly or indirectly affected.

Personally, I travel the tram day in day out. It is an absolutely superb service. The events of yesterday are truly shocking and probably like a lot of you I'm struggling to come to terms with the accident. The news this morning that a Palace fan of 19 years has lost his life is truly awful. My son of 12 years uses the line also and was only 30 minutes out from travelling so clearly we are as a family thanking a few lucky stars this morning but the seriousness of this tragedy is not lost on us all.

Rivalries aside, thinking of anyone who has been affected.

nice words mate. thanks

Yesterday a very dear friend of ours, our children and grandchildren was killed in this tragic accident.
Dane was truly a lovely boy and thought world's of his parents Tony & Bev...He often travelled with his Dad to watch the Palace, home and away.

Dane was just nineteen and will be sadly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.

Our thoughts right now are now with Chin, Bev, Taylor and Brad....RIP Dane Chinnery

so sorry to hear this. it can be a very cruel world

Maybe we can start up a chant of He's one of our own on the 19th minute if people don't think applause is suitable. Silly idea or not?

I think the club should acknowledge the local tragedy with respectful silence before the match. Anything less is not so meaningful.

Sorry but not a good idea. Minutes silence before kick off is perfectly respectful. Turning it a show is not. Tragic accident but some are trying to turn others grief into their own. I knew Tank personally and will be thinking of him during the silence.

Sorry bubble but you are wrong mate.

Both families condone what will occur on Saturday, in fact they will be there to witness it.
It is for them as well as Dane & Tank and they respect that as they did when they walked up to us at the top of Clyde Road yesterday to join 100+ of us there paying our respects.

So So right, I was with both Dane's & Tank's family yesterday. Both are overwhelmed with the support from us & what we're doing.
As for anyone, bubble wrap or whoever, please keep your thoughts to yourself, don't comment on what you don't know !!
