Results are quite important though aren't they.

Of course. But if they come by playing Pulis/Alardyce style, there is nothing to entertain me. I'd rather we pressed teams than sit back and counter-attack. Losing by one or two goals to top clubs is easy to take if the players at least try to win. Like today.

We will only get better at this style. It is new to the squad. They need to adjust to it. Yes the defence is most at fault, but the football is the better.

I agree with you mate. If pullis was our defensive coach, we would be in the top 4 , but he's not, so we are in the sh*t.
Amazes me that Pullis had the defence so right. He leaves and so apparently do all of his drills , what other multi million pound company would let an employee leave and not keep all of his attributes that worked so well?

It seems we do need to get used to misplaced passes around our own area. Just wish we could make up for it with a few well placed passes around their area.
Transitioning to a passing game will only work if you have someone to pass to.
Move you b******s.

My patience will be over if we fail to get anything from Swansea. As for the board, I can't believe they'll keep him if we've still got 11 points after the Hull game.

im with you mate. i hold out longer than most but it will be the final straw

Comes a stick or twist moment though so we shall see. I dont enjoy seeing Pardew being sacked purely because it means we're in the sh1t.

I also wouldn't want to say I told you so if he is sacked and would rather move on but I guess if he does keep us up, but not with a comfortable cushion, it'd be those tenants up Sir Alan's rectum that'd claim we didn't have a clue.

I certainly don't enjoy everything we've built from the owners down to unconditional fan backing being destroyed by either unconditional loyalty to someone who played for us badly 25 years ago.

Do what is right FFS before it's too late. SP is a highly successful businessman and has a few years in football now so....

No we wouldn't. We would be bottom 10, as his teams always end up. We'd have everyone behind the ball, we'd be defensively solid but would hardly score.

I know what you mean about defensive coaching though. Mind you, Allardyce's teams ship more goals! I was surprised when I looked it up.

Pardew starts the game with one tactic. Get the wingers to take the ball up and then cross to Benteke's head, and its a goal..... So other teams realise what is happening and mark Benteke out of the game. Meanwhile goals are crashing in at the other end but clean sheets are no concern of Pardew's as long as his team is playing attractive football. Benteke starts to get frustrated and starts pushing other players and free kicks are the result. Half time and eventually Pardew realises that his crafty tactic is not working so he takes off one of his wingers and replaces him with a Forward. Result....a goal. But goals still go crashing in at the Palace end as the defence are as inept as Pardew's tactics. I am all for giving the manager plenty of time to get his team right and playing well and will support the manager fully. The time has come to make a change of manager and get a manager with some tactical ability. I appreciate that Man City are a good team and that Palace played well but it still looked like a good Premier team playing a good Championship team.

Every time we lose we get sound bites fromAP that we are nearly there, playing well, just not getting the breaks etc. But honestly the individual errors we seem to have each week makes me wonder if the players are listening to him or if like us they have got fed up with the same old nonsense.
Pardew has extreme self confidence but I do now fear that he is losing the dressing room!

Thank you CPFC2010 for keeping me interested in football, for me no Palace no football either. Come on you Eagles.

Whatever the excuses or problems the results and our close proximity to the relegation zone is worrying. I think Pardew has lost the plot and the board need to do something?
For me the fact that we have some quality players and are consistently losing is down to not just the players but the manager also.

Very clever title, did the OP mean to do it? Indeed there are numerous threads whereby pardew receives a hanging.

Don't want to call for anyone to be sacked but I would like it if FA would call upon AP to carry on Southgate's policy of playing ineptly from the back while carrying on Roy's strategy of playing football without tactics.

Said to others 2 weeks ago that any managerial change would happen after the City game as giving any new manager City as a first up would be a bit unfair. Still feel the same after seeing yesterday's game. Actually I was a bit surprised that I didn't get a notification on the phone on the way home that he'd gone.

Basically something has to give to get us out of this slump, which has been going on since last Christmas. Maybe he's been given a last throw of the dice next Saturday against Swansea but I suspect that the chop is coming.
