I don't know what the average waiting time is for the bar but I have yet to go to any ground where there has not been a queue and people are leaving to get to the bar before half-time begins. Surely the same is true for any large capacity venue (see Twickenham) unless you happen to be at a Mormon convention.

St marys is pretty quick as they start to pour beer before the crowd builds up knowing that they will sell them thus not letting the crowd build up too much

I'm back in the main stand after several years in the AW & HL and prefer it overall. Helps to have a back row seat so me & the lad can stand & get shouty without p*****g too many people off. The bars & toilets are better than elsewhere & there's a growing noise/atmosphere - particularly around the players lounge/family sections. There's much to be said for cold beer in a glass....
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

I won 2 x tickets last season from Mansion to see us play Liverpool where that cheating tosser (now one of our own) won the game for the pool! Main stand isn't my cup of tea. I was right down the far end by the family stand and I didn't even want to clap as I thought I'd offend the people around me. It's as if I was in a library, honestly.

Grounds like Anfield have people with backpacks selling cans as well as loads of bars. Takes about two minutes to get served, or less.

I have mementioned this before. Why don't they put some vending machines in for those of us who just want to buy a bottle of water or soft drink / sweets for the kids at half time . This would cut down some ques. For those who want a pint why not have them pre poured like they do at Wembley. Would be so much quicker.

Must have known what Palace fans expect.

Had season ticket in the players lounge with my brother in the mid 90's for about 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. These were the days when players actually drank after games in the bar with the fans (John Salako was a regular both before and after games there as he was always injured and John Humphries always seemed to be around to talk to the fans after a games), but the old boys in our row always complained about us either going to or from the bar or having to go to the toilet due to alcohol consumption. "same very week"... "same every week" they used to moan. So we went back to the Holmesdale and the warm lager etc Not sure why they call it the players lounge anymore as the players rarely go in the there. They have a seperate bar upstairs that only ticket holders can get in. The players wives and children go in there to wait for their husbands. Most get the impression that all the wives hang out but most dont even talk to each other, they might say hello but thats about it. Most players dont hang out anymore either. Now and again maybe but not it used to be. Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing. The sooner they build better stands the better.

You would need to have intelligent staff to do that but alas they are quite inept. Leicester was great Food and service before the game and at half time.
