Burnley are not nearly as solid as some would have you believe, they give up the most shots per game in the league, the most shots on target in the league, and also offer hardly anything going forward.

They've had Tom Heaton to thank for their 'solidity' so far - he made 11 saves against Utd I think!

Any team that concedes 11 shots on target in a game is not going to keep a clean sheet very often!

We should beat them, unless Heaton plays another miracle game or we keep giving up cheap goals.

We may beat them and can beat them no way should we beat them. They have a better points total for teams played then us they defend better then us and are at home we have the best striker and wingers first goal wins the game.

The way Burnley have been playing and the way we have been playing, who would back us? We cant beat West ham or West Brom, so why should be beat Burnley?
I tell you what, if we do lose then I think SP will be seriously contemplating AP's position. And who wouldn't?

Personally speaking, Burnley is not a must win game, but definitely a must not lose one, even this early in the season.

Burnley recently beat Everton 2-1 at Home and only lost narrowly, 0-1 to Arsenal at 'Turf Moor'.
They made a couple of decent midfield signings in pre-season, Jeff Hendrick for £10.5 Mill and Steven Defour for £7.35 Mill. Andre Gray has served his 4 match suspension and played at man Utd.But they do have Patrick Bamford in their ranks !

They will be a tough nut to crack and a 4th consecutive defeat for us will of course set off the 'Anti-Pardew' brigade on here !

it's not just about those 4 losses though is it willo, but you keep kissing AP's arse all the way to the championship.

Yep, I think this is right. And I'll bet he has already had his thoughts on who he might replace him with.

A difficult result to predict but if I were a betting man then a draw would be the one to go for and I would settle for that right now.
Burnley are a team with a game plan - we don't seem to have one - and they will be difficult to beat.
Our away form is better than at home though but a draw would do for me.

People expecting a draw from a newly promoted team ? is that what AP has instilled in you ? an apathy towards expectancy. Are you really falling for the "oh well never mind that we lost to Burnley because listen they were a good team we did well here today" bollicks that he spouts whenever we get beat.

5 wins in 32 people! wake up and smell the bullsh1t he's a busted flush chancer, and has been outed at nearly every club he has been to.

Burnley are an in form side who have achieved some fantastic results recently. We, on the other hand have gone into free fall since the last international break.
I expect to hear the usual AP excuses over injuries, poor refereeing decisions, or indeed the wrong referee officiating, should we lose this one.

I really don't think I have mentioned anything on here to suggest I am in either camp.

When I keep saying it will set off the "Anti-Pardew" brigade all I am doing is expressing an opinion that yet another defeat will have them out in force "Baying for blood", that's all.

Have a read of this Danny, let me know what you think about Pardew.

Based on how we've played this season, I am confident we can beat Burnley on Saturday.

Also, which manager has been a success at each club they have been at? At our level, any manager with experience is going to have been sacked at one point, it's the nature of the profession.

We are playing a lot better than we did the second half of last season. The results will come

Any one on here know how many tickets you have sold for Burnley on Saturday ? And how many CP fans will just turn up and pay on the day ? Two seasons ago you brought about 1,000, if memory serves me right? The Cricket (away) End is now split into two, and away sides get a max of 2,600 seats now - compared to over 4,500 when you were last here.
To those of you travelling up to Lancashire on Saturday, have a safe trip, and we look forward to meeting you in the Cricket Club (which now has 3 bars, hot and cold food and sky sports) before match.

I constantly marvel at the way AP's smoke and mirrors bullsh1t seems to be like an infectious virus that clouds the mind of the normally rational human being. Reading your posts you (and others) are offering up the same tired and lame excuses for the same turgid and one dimensional football we are getting week in week out. We cant sustain pressure, we have no other option other than hit Benteke's head, we have lost the ability to defend simple set pieces, we can't keep posession of the ball in the last third, and as I mentioned before 5 wins in 32 games is relagation form. And yet after all this you still think AP is worth defending as a manager? I'll have some of what your smoking.
