Another point of Motd. They didn't show the flares set off by liverpool fans and thrown into the pitch. If that was palace fans do you think they would have mentioned it? Oh yes.... Jug Ears Lineker and Baldy Shearer would have campaigned for it like they did for Jedi and Wickham's FA bans for elbowing opponents. West Ham and Liverpool are given special treatment by BBC/MOTD as regards fans behaviour.... Both club's fans would never get drunk, turn up without tickets, fight, throw coins or generally do anything naughty. Singing Bubbles and YNWA typifies both clubs as community spirited, fun and friendly paragons of virtue in the minds of BBC/MOTD. The thought of them throwing bottles at a Man Utd coach full of players or throwing a flare on the pitch? Preposterous Hogwash!

I agree that he probably hates Pardew, but that has only ingrained his previous disdain for us... as I said even before that with Warnock, where almost every pundit hated us because of Colin's antagonistic persona. Shearer has bad mouthed since day one of joining MOTD and I'd like to know why? Parish called him out over comments he made about Wilf a couple of months ago Hoof.

Neither did anyone mention the Liverpool player that took off his shirt to celebrate scoring - thought that was still a bookable offence as directed by FIFA - unless they relaxed it this year? (and which would have meant he was sent off later when he got another card!)

Danny Murphy has always been a great thinker of the game.As a player he used to read the game brilliantly and Houllier once commented that he reminded him of Platini in this respect. I think it was Houllier who Murphy is p1ssed off with after not being told he wasn't going to feature any more.

What is Shearer's beef with us? He NEVER gives us any credit when we win, consistently denies us a penalty in attack and always agrees with all penalties given against us. Who or what at Palace has p1ssed him off? It can't be just Pardew or Warnock... Shearer has always hated us in my experience. Murphy made him look a right grumpy muppet last night! And I noticed that in Shearer's "analysis" two great saves by Mandanda weren't great saves at all - they were just evidence that Liverpool deserved to win by more.

I don't know what the BBC pay Shearer but they could save themselves some money,a cardboard cut -out could do just as good a job.

I think it goes right back to when he was with Southampton. We had sold Ian Wright and tried hard to buy Shearer as his replacement, but he refused to sign and held out for a big contract at Blackburn, who were then being bankrolled by Jack Walker. So I think it is all about money, and that we pissed him off by not offering him what he thought he was worth. Originally posted by Hoof Hearted

I just don't think the majority of the match of the day team likes us much. We are usually on last and they miss out a lot of action in our games that I would have thought were good enough to make a highlights programme. Wilf and Yannick seem to be some of the only players I can remember getting mentioned in a positive way on the programme. They hardly ever show decisions that go against us but seem to always highlight when a player dives or violent conduct that isn't picked up but hardly ever show these types of things for big teams. They really p*ssed me off last season when pundits said Benteke's clear dive was a penalty. Also they hardly ever highlight our fan displays or good support but do not hesitate to show when our fans throw objects at players. I do like MOTD but it has started to p*ss me off recently. However, having said all of that, in my opinion none of those three incidents were penalties.
