I'm not overly excited by Pardew at the moment, but if we sack him now things could get a whole lot worse to unsettle things at this stage of the season, we're 12th, we're not exactly cut adrift at the bottom. We've all got our opinions about keeping or sacking Pardew, but one thing I can't believe is those that keep adding last season's stats to this, as in 5 wins in 2016!!! It might have escaped some people's notice, but the football season doesn't run with the calender year and last season's stats don't count anymore!! It's a new season and we've won 3 and are in 12th place and that's all that matters now!!

That's what i was wondering mate. Any other manager would be gone. But that deadbeat, and he is a deadbeat, gets a free pass because he done well as a player over quarter of a century ago. Well he did get us to a FA Cup final, beating all Premiership (bar one) teams on route, and come within 7 minutes of winning that last season. Our start this season hasn't been great, but its not bad either. Just enough to retain premier league status. Well in truth, with Pardew at the helm we've not actually come close to relegation. Before losing to West Ham (H) Leicester and Liverpool (H) we did win three on the bounce. I think he's doing a reasonable job.

I do wonder if the Geordies are ever going to lose this obsession with AP. Every week, if Palace have lost, the comments columns are full of "You've been Pardewed""Told you he was shyte" etc. It really is boring and tedious.

The reason he hasn't been sacked yet is twofold. 1) A large proportion of the fanbase (myself included) have a huge willing for him to do well. He's the romantic option for us fans, he comes from the area, scored possibly the most famous goal of our history... He gets us and that does go a long way. He aims high, always goes for 3 points rather than settling for 1... There are a lot of things to like about him from a Palace fan's perspective. We don't really ever look like going down with him in charge, either. 2) He clearly has a very good relationship with the chairman, who himself would much rather back than sack. Parish worked on Pardew coming months before he eventually came, he sees him as his man and unless things get dire he'll be our manager for the foreseeable future. We are nowhere near the stage whereby Pardew's position is under threat. That said, IF (God forbid) we slide down the table to the extent that we enter the relegation zone on the back of an abject run, then the situation could change. The 'Chairman' has been mentioned but let us remember we also have 2 Americans owners and they could have their own views about the tenureship of the manager.

Hi Gallowgate Ender, do you have any candid photos of Pardew in the bath? Only you come across as a pretty obsessive chap. Attachment: the_other_Alan.bmp (278.51Kb)

Strange. Football fans (particularly your lot) expect too much these days. I'd rather it was boom and bust than bust and bust, which is what every single manager you've had since you sacked AP has been.
