This isn't necessarily a 'Pardew Out' thread, nor a kneejerk reaction to today's game. More that I'm fairly bored at work this evening so I've had a look through our league form since Pardew took over and, by my reckoning, he now has the following league record since taking over;

PLAYED - 66
WON - 24
DRAWN - 12
LOST - 30
FOR - 80
AGAINST - 88

On the face of it, a pretty decent record. He's taken 84 points at an average of 1.27 a game which, extrapolated over a 38 game season, would give us 48 points, the exact amount we achieved in 2014/15 and saw us finish 10th.

However, breaking it down into two 33 game runs tells two very different stories;

1st 33 games

PLAYED - 33
WON - 17
DRAWN - 3
LOST - 13
FOR - 47
AGAINST - 36

2nd 33 games

PLAYED - 33
WON - 7
DRAWN - 9
LOST - 17
FOR - 33
AGAINST - 52

Further to this, Pardew has a reputation as a streaky manager, alternating between winning and losing several in a row. So, I also counted the winless sequences to see how long it is taking us to get back on track after the final game of a winning run.

1st 33 games

1,2,1,4,1,2,3,1,1 - Average: 1.78

2nd 33 games

14,4,4,3 - Average 6.25

So the facts are that we are winning less, drawing and losing more, scoring less goals and conceding more. We've dropped from 1.6 to 0.9 points a game on average and the winless runs between victories have gone up by 4 and a half each time.

Yet on the face of it, we have a superior squad to the one he inherited. He has attracted high calibre players like Benteke, Cabaye, Tomkins and Mandanda, many of whom would get in half of the sides in the league without a problem. So where is it going wrong for us?

I always err on the side of retaining a manager where possible and with us 12th in the league it's difficult to do otherwise here, yet we are only 4 points above the relegation zone. Our next 5 games include Burnley, Swansea, Southampton and Hull. For me he needs 6 points minimum from this run of fixtures or he's in trouble.

Good post and only wish those weren't the stats ...

We have by far a better team/ squad than last. Worried that we've nicked a couple of late Iones and our current position is flattering. Roll on January. One thing it did see the was a look of desperation on Alan's face during the game. Worried man in my eyes

We have made good signings to take us forward, but we have lost key players as well along the way.
Bolasie has upset the balance although never really had an end product, Gayle a good finisher but could never cut it as a lone striker up top.
What a combination of Benteke and him together up front would be? I have not seen a centre forward win so many headers in so few matches, but nobody is with him as proved again today!
And our captain and leader, this was massively evident today and I am sure he would have won a few headers in the box including the free header for their third goal(shocking)
Transfer window fullback or fullbacks and a striker and a tough midfielder.

Has there been a worse piece of defending in the current run in the top flight by Palace than Liverpool's 3rd (think it was the 3rd, all a blur now)? The free header. Can't be shipping goals like that.

When they got the needless corner I said to the fella next to me that they will score with a free header right on HT. And there you go! Too predictable, why do we always concede late first half goals?

The fitness and concentration levels have gotten steadily worse under Pardew. Also we didn't address the lack of strength in depth within the squad.

I have an issue with certain drills right now. Obviously defending corners isn't good and gifting free throws another. Cr&p corners and how other teams surround our player yet we cannot do 2 on 1. Very slow to loose and 2nd balls. We're not as sharp or prepared or competitive enough.

I'm sure your plans to stop the press will be much appreciated.

Today we were beaten by a very good Liverpool but share a lot of fans opinion AP is in trouble. Just hope I'm wrong.

Because in re-styling the team Pardew has neglected the fact that you need speed and intensity and / or strength from set pieces.

We look a really slow side and the less said about set pieces the better after tonight.

SP really should of got Benteke and Remy in before the season started, especially with the opening seven games we had. A strong start would of been very helpful. Obviously we didn't and now just as we found some form the injuries kicked in and they are hurting us badly. As for AP he has us so very close it seems to being a good side as we are competitive in nearly every game we play, but as usual for Palace he doesn't appear to be a lucky manager.
As for suggestions for Big Sam, may I just say f*** off.

..it has all been down to very unfortunate luck with players making awful mistakes, if anyone does a table with individual mistakes...we will be clear top of it.
