Ok. I really hate losing. But Tomkins is in the Wickham, Alex Mccarthy mode. Looks the part, overrated, preferred to a legend. Pardew favorite based on nothing. Tomkins swapping shirts and celebrating with those ***** last week made me sick.

We seem to start matches without the intensity that we manage in the second half, tonight included. Why?? Sadly, it contributes to us shipping the first goal, rather than scoring it, so often. And it conceded the initiative to LFC from the start. Same in the Cup Final, though that nearly paid off ("8minutes longer...".

Tonight we were beaten by a far better team, but were embarrassed esp by three glaring central defensive lapses - two headers from corners and a wide open barn-door space for the last. Personally, I'd play Damo in these key games; his understanding with Dann is terrific and he puts in so many good blocks and is powerful in the air (slow on the ground?? maybe, but the rest more than compensates).

But we only gel in fits and starts - fitness, attitude, team selection, or tactics/management?

I also think we will be OK, our defence looked weak today but Dann didn't seem to be fully fit after his injury.

Benteke got very little service but against weaker teams he will.

I was suprised the Macarthur was taken off, I thought that Cabaye was the weaker of the two today.

I thought Lee was our weakest player today and we looked a bigger threat with Townsend on.

But overall I still think that this is one of the strongest Palace sides I have seen

Dann is a good player but he has these types of games/moments it's not something new and i do not think it was to do with fitness he has had plenty of time for recovery plus if he was not fit enough he wouldn't of played the whole game.

McArthur put in a lot of work which is why he was taken off and Cabaye is in need of matches remember he has been out for fair amount of time this might be the first 90min he has had in the league since coming back from Euro.

Cabaye plays a different game I wouldn't say he was the weaker he just had a different role which i think he did alright today

Lee again was used wrong at the beginning any one that has watched Palace knows that guy is not a winger plus he is awful at defending his best position is in the center like the role Punch had when he played behind the striker (not the defencive role)once he was moved to this role he looked a lot better and really should of stayed on with Ledley going off for Townsend.

Mid table is not good enough should be busting a gut to get top 10 and we are not.

Good teams play as a team, we are not. Work rate nowhere enough except for one shining light Jimmy Mac.

Benteke, you in particular have to roll your sleeves up and put yourself about, forget your price tag and graft. Can't get by on skill alone!

Wilf, stop diving and concentrate on your end product.

AP, show you are a PL manager, inspire the players and bind them together to develop that all important team spirit so that teams coming to Selhurst Park know they are in for a battle. Of course having the right team selected and the tactics to match helps but the that's why you are the manager.

Finally let's not loose sight of the fact that we have conceded 7 goals in 2 games which is definitely not top 10 form and unacceptable.

You can't be serious top 10 no mid table is about correct for this season top 10 next year maybe.

Benteke is not going to run about for the sake of it this is not his game learn something about the sport rather then sprouting off rubbish.

That's right. 5 straight seasons in the top flight. Not bad that we've made 4 straight again.

AP was talking after two wins on the bounce of a challenge for a place in the Europa Cup and talking of having at least two new signings in place come the January window.
The reality of our situation tonight is that we have suffered three straight defeats and have a tough away fixture at an in form Burnley next Saturday. We desperately need a result there,as another defeat will ,if other results go against us, leave us at the wrong end of the table, rather than sitting comfortably in mid table.

To a resurgent W Ham, the league champions and to a team mounting a serious and credible challenge for the title. Be realistic.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

This is why you shouldn't fall for his spin. The runs are predictable, especially when you see the fixture list. But if this run spirals into LLLLDLWLL then that'll be all over. SP won't hav any of that risk to us reaching long term potential.

Tomkins needs to sort himself out fast. Today he was at fault and not for the 1st time. He is decent but today he was exposed.

Thought we played well second half Wilf had a great game, the first foul in the box 100% penalty, and I cannot understand why the lino didn't flag.
Cabaye and Punch added a bit more composure and should start next week.Chungy works hard but sadly he's not quite strong enough enough for the Premier League .

You are kidding,right?

He couldnt get off the pitch quick enough to get down to boxpark and see his g's opening the new chicken shops.
