Wilf has had to work his socks off covering for him the past few games. Whilst on the face of it it's easy to say Fryers is ''an attacking full back'' he hasn't yet been given a chance to prove his defensive qualities-now is the time to be given a run imo. We need a new left back in January though, no question. Edited by rawpalace05 (24 Oct 2016 8.58pm) Best crosser at the club? Really? Yes we miss his energy and desire to get forward but he isn't the best crosser by a long way. Kelly is a centre half playing at full back. Agreed he is our weak link at the moment though. Clearly ZF has improved to get himself on the bench but from what I've seen he is no more than a squad player. left back in Jan' is a must.

Fryers looks ok going forward, but vs West Ham he got beaten by his man worryingly easily!

Inside out full backs always have to wing it. Sorry.

I think Kelly's crossing is better than Souare's. Fryers has been brought on for his pace in attack when we have been chasing games. I don't think Fryers would have got on the pitch at all if we'd have been winning. I'd worry if he started over Kelly. But I'd love to be proven wrong. Exactly what I think.

I can recall one great cross by Souare that was converted into a goal by a great header by Wickham against Watford in the semi final , I can't recall many others creating a goal for us, most others of his I recall are randomly thrashed across the goal in a bit of hit and hope, perhaps I am wrong but it's what I have seen .

As opposed to the long list of goals scored from Martin Kelly crosses?
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Can't recall specifically sorry...just remember thinking time and time again, "man that guy whips a dangerous ball in". He gets those crosses over that just seem to float across right in between the keeper and defensive line. Just because no one got on the end of them, doesn't make them bad crosses. Can't wait to see Benteke on the end of them.

It is said that a "Dangerous cross" is one delivered curling away from the keeper in that so called "Area of uncertainty" waiting to be attacked centrally but certain players like Andy Carroll like to take up a position at the back post so this sort of cross is not ideal for him.A cross to the far post for Carroll is a cross delivered into the "Right area". I am meeting up with an assistant manager of a league club tonight so I will ask him about all this "Crossing" business !!!!
