Surely they are where they are because of the proximity to their coaches? Less opportunity for disruption if they are shepherded from transport straight into the ground. It works most weeks although local derbies are more of a problem.

they are there to keep them away from the main home support to lessen the need for Policing within the stadium mainly. The road behind the Arthur has always been for paring the coaches out of the way.

Actually, I was in the front row of the main stand for the Cardiff League Cup semi final and there was a lot of noise behind me when the Crystals came out. In fact, I got a 90 minute commentary of what the chaps behind me wanted to do to the Crystals. They may have briefly stopped to celebrate the goal.

About 10 seconds of action spread out over 90 minutes. They must have very vivid imaginations James. :-)

What annoys me is the amount of people in and out their seats getting food and drink all through the game. A few minutes before half time is acceptable to beat the dreadful ques but all the way through??? They must see all combined about 20 minutes of the game.

Because giving the whole of one end, behind a goal, to away supporters gives them a huge advantage; why do you think the noisiest home support gathers behind one of the goals? The ideal place for away support is tucked away in a far corner, as distant from the pitch as possible, where (as Holden Caulfield would have it) their support will sound 'scrawny and faggy'.

Sorry, but because of it's design the Whitehorse is the least acoustic stand at Selhurst. Putting the opposition in a tin shed like the Arthur means they are in the most acoustic part of the ground. It is nothing to do with coaches either, as the entrances to the Whitehorse are in the same place as the entrances to the Arthur.
As for standing behind the goal, I thought it was mainly down to the oiks watching from the cheapest available location. I know that's why I always had to stand there.

You'd be surprised at how many orifices these chaps were able to fantasise about.

Must be the row I am usually in, full of people who shove by all game long . Quite annoying after a while especially if I have one of my younger kids stood on their seat so they can see .

Lets go 80's style and have them back in a cage almost, opposite end to that currently used, smack bang next to the holmesdale lower where they used to be.....

Leicester fans have their singers either side of the away fans. That would be great at Selhurst if the away fans went back to the first few blocks in the Arthur nearest the Holmesdale with the AWM and HF either side it would make for a great atmosphere.

Exactly. Fanny, bum and mouth have it all covered in my book. Not in that order though obviously.
