decent read that , but wouldn't the analysis be skewed when the oppo goes down to 10 like Saturday

interviewer " iggy , do you think you influenced anybody?"
iggy pop " I think I wiped out the 60`S "

Interesting read Victor albeit a little mind boggling!

Do you have any stats to say how many miles Benteke covered as opposed to ZaZa and the team generally against West Ham's?

Yes that is a good point, didn't mention that. Teams that go down to 10 also have less shots/ face more shots, so that may have added to us coming back in to the game.

But in general, with or without 10 men, teams tend to shoot more than the opposition if they are trailing by 1 goal.

No I don't actually - not sure where these are captured. I would be wary of reading too much into those kind of stats, there is no evidence that distance run has any positive effect on goals/ shots/ points etc. Distance run tends to give a bit more information about the style.

You can still play with intensity and put in 100% effort and run less, so it doesn't prove anything on its own.

yep agree , Saturday was a classic "down to 10 men " scenario , teams will stay the same shape in defence and midfield just less up front . ive seen it where the away team is one up and go to a 4-5-0 formation

Really good article. Feel better about the next few games knowing that statistically we played well enough to win that game.

It's a pretty good marker though!
