My missus was 8.5 months pregnant. After 15 mins of 2nd half, and remembering some historic thrashings at the hands of liverpool, i said "we can go if you like, avoid the crowds' - "no, lets stay" she said. Then the first goal. I said again "how are you feelin, we've got one back, i dont mind leaving if you want to... "no, lets give it another 5 mins." Ok i said. Then the 2nd goal... and the crowd is absolutely buzzing...."erm we're not leaving now' i said .....then Dwight Gayle slips in the equaliser....i nearly had the baby!!!

brilliant story

5-0 v Moanure, '72, Gerry Queen etal.

Defo the Burnley game, tho that atmosphere was rather 'strained' until the final whistle.

Cup Finals(& semis), other play-offs.....BR1-0TON games

Yeah, thanks for reminding me of that Fulham promotion game in April 1969. 0-2 down at half time, then winning 3-2, with dear old Mark Lazarus getting the winner. I see from the records that, almost unbelievably, since then we've beaten Fulham at home just once. Just edges the 3-3 against Liverpool for atmosphere.

Gerry Queen had left before the Utd game - great match though.

I was one of the 50,000 squashed into Selhurst Park that day. As others have said Gerry Queen had gone by that time and our main striker was the diminutive Alan Whittle but it was the great Don Rogers weaving his magic that most of us were looking forward too and weave it he did scoring twice in the process.

This thread is supposed to be about atmosphere - well it was very very loud

Probably the Blackburn game for me too. I still think that Pardew cross with the outside of his right boot for Wrighty to score was his best moment for the club & not his Villa Park goal.

The place was jumping from well before kick off & it just got louder & louder.

It's not that long ago I showed my lad that video & pointed out his idiot father on the pitch at the end.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Yes Eagleman, Fulham 1969! Was that Gerry Queen doing his magic? On the pitch afterwards, first time in the top flight, pretty impressive stuff for an 11 year old me at the time!
(My first ever Palace match was home to Blackpool a few months before that...abandoned after 43 mins cos of fog!...hooked me tho!)

I was at that Blackpool game and actually it was a frozen pitch that caused the abandonment. Bobby Woodruff was wearing baseball boots because the pitch was so hard.
I was at the Fulham match too,but I think Gerry Queen arrived the following season .

I missed the Palace 4-3 Millwall in 1989. Can anyone tell me what the atmosphere was like?

My first game where we drew late against Manure in 1989 wasn't to bad.
