If I was Klopp at Liverpool I would off Sturridge. With class players like Firmino, Lallana, mane and coutinho, why would you want a self obsessed shoot hap forward around. England take note, there are far better centre forwards out there.

I was encouraged by some of the play. The going forward play wasn't so bad until that final ball. But that wasn't helped by Sturidge not playing as a center forward should and not being able to hold it and play it off. He needs either a forward in front of him or not being in the team. Thought Townsend looked good when he came on. Lingard looks a player for the future as does Deli Ali. They will get better if given the chance? However, the mistakes we made throughout the match were terrible. Make one of those in the prem and you lose. In this match we made at least four major mistakes and got away with it due to our opponents not being prem quality. And Mainly down to Hart. Much better keeper than any at Man City. Let's not knock this team, especially as we have one of our own as the manager and Townsend earning a start next match (perhaps) For the first time for many a year I want England to do well and that's down to the old guard slowly being replaced and Palace having some input. If that was Palace we would be saying that we were happy with that draw :-)

Have slowly over the years been losing interest in our team. Very poor tonight and lucky to get away with a draw

Defence a liability. Dier was supposed to add some containment, instead he added to their attack. Slovenia just hacked down anyone stepping over the halfway line. Andros was hacked at 3 times in a row in the last minute, Ref did nothing, totally pathetic. Parrot

What on earth has happened to Gary Cahill? Scarily bad this evening, him and Stones were all over the place. Lucky not to lose, shocking performance really. Thought Townsend was our best player when he came on. Lots of players missing, Lallana Sterling and Kane would all walk into that team. Still rubbish though.

Awful. Nothing up front. Sturridge is awful. LingArd and Walcot. ...really? Captain Henderson? He's actually world class....but admittedly not showing it in an England shirt at the minute.

Some of those players have got to go now, Cahill is awful for England. Sturridge is a very good player to have as an option off the bench, I cannot see how he starts though, he is a luxury. Dier and Henderson as the midfield two is frighteningly ponderous. Walcott has never done it for England.

straw and camels back last night. I used to love going down the pub and watching England, can remember world cups and Euros spent queuing to get in places to soak up the atmosphere and get a decent seat to watch the match with my mates. Now, can barely be ar$ed to acknowledge the fact they are playing. Had the Malta game on at the weekend and they honestly reminded me of the palace squad we had a few years back when they literally looked like they couldn't be bothered to turn up, let alone run and challenge for the ball. Sad, very very sad that our national team has ended up like this.

We could not really complain if we ended up losing 3-0 last night - but for Joe Hart and some woeful finishing we would have lost at least 1-0. Dier (Dire?) gifted them two golden opportunities and Henderson another. If these two are supposed to be better options than Rooney (who I thought was right to be dropped before last night) then we have major problems. Walcott and Lingard looked ineffectual in attack. Sturridge is far too greedy to be aware of other players in better positions. Cahill and Stones hardly gave us confidence either. Rose and Walker were decent as was Alli. Rooney and Townsend both lifted spirits when they came on. Rashford didn't have long enough to make an impression. Overall, a bad night for english football again. Is the problem, the management or the players? It wasn't a good game to watch whoever's fault it was. Edited by Hoof Hearted (12 Oct 2016 9.26am)
