Only they could get relegated and still be totally gobsmacked that a player might want to leave their club.

They don't believe the bullsh*t either by the looks of it. The article states he didn't have the integrity to stay and he was partly responsible for the relegation!!!. He was the only reason they nearly stayed up. They got relegated because the terrible owner and board, let super al go and employed the Wally with the brolly.

Not all of them are but unfortunately the worst ones of the lot write blogs so it's their rubbish that receives the publicity. The Mag is the written equivalent of the film Fatal Attraction so both Pardew and Townsend need to make sure that they keep their bunnies well locked up. Stupid quotes include "Even when Andros Townsend signed he was already thinking about leaving, insisting on a release clause if Newcastle were relegated four months later." Is that any different to clubs (like ours) that have a clause in contracts for a reduction in wages in the event of relegation? Having lived in the North East for a few years and still having friends there (plus a son who actually works at St James Park) I know that the vast majority of the fans have moved on and it's only one or two dickwads who seem to be permanently stuck in then past. Townsend is just being honest about his time up there, but he will probably be saying the same thing about Palace when he has been with us for a few years

Here's another corker from them: “First and foremost I want to take Newcastle back into the Premier League, I think it was a duty that if you were part of the group that took the club down, to try and get it back to where it needs to be.” Seeing as Andros played 39.5% of the season for them and they got 43.2% of their points in those games, he wasn't part of the group that took them down.

Steve McClaren was part of the group that took them down so why wasn't he given the opportunity to try and get them back. The article is all about what a close knit group they now are but it's probably just to divert people from the activities of one of their players who was arrested this week for allegedly taking part in a brawl in a night club
