We really need to be getting points on the board early this season. Our run in at end of season is pretty horrible so need to be safe with 6-8 games spare really. Defo need to capitalise from our "easy" early games. Shame we dropped points at home to west brom and Bournemouth in that sense.

I expect that Benteke shares your feelings and will bust a gut to score a hat-trick

Again love the optimism but worry if Benteke got injured, then we dont have a lot of options for main striker. Whilst scoring from midfield and defence, his contribution to our success and what he offers is fantastic.

Agreed, Benteke has been immense since his arrival and we still have Remy to add to our fire power, when he fully recovers.
Without these two though, are options up front are very thin on the ground.

I would also be very happy with six points from those games. Its a bit more realistic, but if we do win a few more then I'll be very pleased.

I'm positive that this season we will compete in 90% of all our games and pick up points consistently all season. We will have our off days and we will smash a few teams and I'm sure come January we will also add to the squad. We will have learned a lot from last season and that will serve us well during this one so I feel we will be looking for 9 but accepting 7 from the next 6 games.

In theory, if we average 1 point per game for the rest of the season we'll be on 42 points and safe. 6 points from the next 6 games would be acceptable taking the opposition into account.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

I like the optimism too. But you are doing exactly the same as the "Palace for Europe" bunch last year. I don't mind reading opinions, but be sensible. If you are correct in your predictions, I'll start sh1tting myself that we won't win another game this season.

I'll be happy with a point a game from now til the end of season. Of course, I'd like loads more, but just because we haven't lost in 5 games doesn't mean we will win the next 5.

Try and keep your feet on the ground please. Every game is tough, for different reasons, but tough. We aren't "entitled" to beat West Ham just because they've had a lousy start to their season. They tonked us last season with a fairly similar squad. At Selhurst Park.

No they did not tonk us at Selhurst Park last season. We had to play with 10 men after Dwight Gayle was sent off in the 40th minute and West Ham only scored twice in the 89th and 90th minutes of the game to win 3-1. Hardly being tonked!!!!!

Looking at those fixtures we could easily get 12 points

We could just as easily get none

West Ham (H) WIN 7-6

Leicester (A) WIN 0-1

Liverpool (H) LOSE 0-6

Burnley (A) DRAW 7-7

Man City (H) DRAW 0-0

Swansea (A) WIN 6-7

I'd be quite happy with 11 points from the next 6 games.

We have a good chance in all of those fixtures if everyone stays fit. The only one I think we might really struggle in is Man City who despite the Spuds blip are going to be very hard to get anything from this season.

I can see us getting at least 10 points if we play like we did in the second half against Everton.

Or look at it another way. We are fully capable of getting results in all those fixtures by:-

Not playing like we did in the first halves of the Bournemouth and Everton matches.

By keeping Benteke injury free.

Not having to come from behind to win games.

We have some really tough ones, but as we showed the other night against Everton, we are good enough now to go 'toe to toe' with an excellent Premier League team. We have the quality to give anyone a real game. Here are my predictions for the next 6 matches;

West Ham (H) WIN 2-0

Leicester DRAW 1-1

Liverpool (H) DRAW 2-2

Burnley WIN 2-1

Man City (H) LOSE 0-2

Swansea WIN 1-0

That will put us on 22 points after only 13 games, which would be a fantastic total and we would be well on our way to securing safety by February. I am very confident we will not suffer the same blip as we did in the second half of last season because we have more quality and resilience as was shown the other night against a very good Everton team

I thought we had quality and resilience in spades this time last year. The trouble was half the team got crock simultaneously.

Keep the injury count down and your predictions look realistic; not optimistic.
