Ok, the fact finding could have been better but lean off the author a tad? At least they tried - could be a youngster, or someone with learning difficulties for all we know! As someone who has spent the last 25 years professionally supporting people with learning disabilities (specific and general), I applaud any attempt by anyone identified as such to express themselves in writing. However ..... the fact remains that the facts just weren't there. It's not spelling I'm criticising, or syntax, or inexperience. It's sloppiness - don't write that Palace have lost their first five matches without checking the facts. Simples!
Crystal Palace - dull it's not! |

Isn't the bigger problem that any of us can just press a button and publish it. Before the Internet these things would have been checked by others before going to print? it's to easy to publish this text for instance?

Eliminating the middle men/women saves money, though. Never mind the quality . . .

What that shows is that spelling is important. One still has to get the first and last letters in the correct place as well as the correct letters within the word itself. Without all that, what you suggest doesn't work. Furthermore, poor spelling can lead to the use of the wrong word, or an inappropriate one, confusing the meaning of what someone has written. Add in poor grammar and syntax, as has been mentioned, and one often ends up with incoherent vomit on paper.
