I thought Bolasie was dangerous. As much as I approved of the deal that helped us financially, I do still have a bit of sentiment towards him and I was disappointed when it sounded like he was being booed...assuming that was the Palace fans? His tackle wasn't malicious, he's an attacking midfielder who doesn't have quite the tackling ability of a fullback. I think he was quite fired up and wanted to play well against his old club and I was convinced he'd score a 92nd minute winner because that's just what happens to Palace. He made a few classic Bolasie mistakes as well. No ill feeling from me (particularly because he didn't score a 92nd minute winner). I still like Bolasie and Everton. I wish him all the best, except against us!

Considering the huge contribution he has made to where we are now, and also I don't believe his departure left is in the lurch in any way (Zaha and Townsend are doing well and Lee's game is improving) I'm not sure I could feel particularly negative towards the guy.

Had a look on the Everton website late last night. They don't doubt that Bolasie is a good player however the majority of them are having serious doubts as to whether he was worth the big transfer fee.

Their biggest gripe seems to be he is 'to inconsistent' and there is 'no end product'.... Sound familiar??

Quite a few of them have said they would rather of had Townsend at half the price!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

I know which was the better deal !
I was astonished that Everton paid that much for Bolasie.

Any decent scout looking at Bolasie would've known he was more about the threat than the product. If they thought it was worth spending £27m on not much more than the constant threat of a tricky player then personally I agree it sounds a bit high. I wouldn't have been happy with Palace signing him for that much. That said, perhaps they thought they had the coaching team to finish off his skill set and if that's the case they might have to wait several months to see that realised (or not realised).

I think his valuation was too high for the player he is now and can only think that he was signed either because they wanted someone causing havoc while Lukaku got a bit of space, or because of the player they thought he would go on to be.

A very good post.

To be brutally honest I have seen a lot of "Bolasies" in non-league football who have never made the step up to the professional ranks.Pace, power, unpredictability but in the final analysis no end product and infuriating.

It depends on how one defines "inconsistent" Bolasie made one absolutely sublime pass early on in yesterday's game that Lukaku should have buried, but he didn't. I've seen other Everton games where Bolasie has made superb passes to Lukaku but the latter hasn't made the most of it.

Pardew made a point a few months back when he said that he wanted mavericks. Bolasie is such a player and he will normally produce one moment of magic in every game and it's up to others in the team to capitalize on that moment of magic. Last night he produced his moment of magic but it wasn't capitalized on

Every club has it's idiots and unfortunately we are no exception. My Everton season ticket holding friend who was at the match said that the Palace support was excellent so obviously the few idiots were drowned out by the rest

Everyone here knows that Bolasie should be on the wing; however, he was actually involved in a lot of Everton's chances, but in a more subtle way than a cross. Lukaku kept running down blind alleys and if it wasn't for his free-kick I wouldn't have said he lived up to the hype. Ward also seemed determined to stop Yala and seemed to have gained a yard of pace that I didn't know he had. I would say it was easily Ward's best game for ages. Plus Delaney came back from the knacker's yard and showed us he can still play an important role.

I have consistently said that Bolasie can go from PL to 'Sunday League' in the space of minutes then back again. Actually I heard someone once say that he goes from 'World Beater' to 'Panel Beater' but this does seem a bit cruel on panel beaters ! Bolasie does something that has supporters thinking "Wow" then these same supporters will be tearing their hair out shortly afterwards. But I agree he does produce moments of magic.

He also put it on a plate for Gueye.

Indeed but it was terrific defending to block the shot.Gueye has been getting good reviews but I thought he had a quiet game last night and I expected more of him. Credit our lads for keeping him quiet.

"You're just a s*** Wilfried Zaha!" Is just good humoured banter! Similar to singing to scousers "your just a small town near Manchester!"

As soon as £30m was mentioned it was a no brainer!

Different players in different positions blah blah blah but is Benteke only £2m better?

I wouldn't abuse him verbally because he plays for a different team now but that is purely down to the mentality of some of you Mockneys you do like a good swear don't you!

And Everton fans are seeing him for exactly what he is inconsistent and overpriced!
