That should hook a few in. I hope so. Even if I say right now that I was being completely tongue in cheek, I'll still get people further down the thread blasting that one (hopefully). I'll also get a couple of people highlighting "tongue in cheek" and making a joke about rimming.

sheesh. 3 wins vs Sunderland, Middlesbourgh and Stoke does not guarentee safety. We are currently averaging 5 points per month. There's approx 10 months in a season, so we're looking at 50 points this season. Because a football season is that predictable..

The traditional 40 has never been enough for me! 45 minimum, 50 and I'll relax. I'll just wait for the fat lady (and when she gets home I'll ask her what she thinks)

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I think we are safe now actually. I agree with the above, we ought to be experimenting now and blooding some youngsters. I agree with posters that have said we aren't quite squad ready for a European campaign next year so we ought not to flirt too much with that. I think we should use these remaining handful of games to try new formations, some experimental set pieces and youth players. Oh and to get Speroni's appearances up. If anything, the fact that we are now safe makes this the perfect opportunity to get rid of Pardew and give the new manager a chance to build.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

I think Palace are the sort of club that should be helping an ex-player transition to management. Look how good Freedman was. I think we ought to wait until we get to 16 points first though before we fire Pardew, I don't want to knee jerk. Hopefully we'll get the 6 more from the next two games then we can send him packing probably for only about a £6m payoff. Then give Delaney or Speroni the job. They are Palace through and through and not getting any younger. I guarantee one of those guys would be able to take us forward and would also appease them for their lack of game time when we field younger men.

That's not a bad shout. I also think we ought to turf England out of Wembley and take it over. They rarely play there and they fail to generate much atmosphere, whereas I think the HF could flood a stadium like that with a wall of noise. Plus it'd be easier to get to than Selhurst which is only served by 4 or 5 stations within walking distance. The seats are red so we'd only have to replace about 40,000 with blue seats to make it ours.

If we can mix our new style of play with some more direct stuff (when needed) I think we can avoid copying the poor results and performances from the previous 3 seasons. 50 points shouldn't be a problem for our squad, but are we safe after 6 games? I can't even begin to contemplate that question!!
